A chart of which airlines serve nuts.

Oh you mean which North American airlines serve peanuts??

America = The World. Sorry, I forgot that. I'll be sure to ask the attendants on Air Malawi what planet they're from next time I fly.

Amusing to see you first minimize the plight of a minority because it doesn't affect you, then get upset when you're not represented in a discussion because you're a minority in this forum.

a) Stopping serving peanuts is meaningless when they are all serving other types of nuts. Its like banning dunhill from your plane but still allowing everyone to smoke marlboros.

b) No business succeeds by catering to tiny minorities at the expense of the overwhelming majority. If we follow  your outraged snowflake mentality, then the world would have to ban vehicles because some people die from traffic accidents.
Bees! lets ban bees. Sometimes they sting people. And paper! It must be done away with, people get papercuts occasionally.

Don't get me wrong, the subject of banning peanuts is certainly up for debate, I'm not entirely decided either way. What amused me was your hypocrisy, expressed again in your response. You show anger/disappointment regarding peanut bans for a small minority (something that's done to cater to a minority that isn't you), then you express your anger/disappointment once again (but for the opposite reason) when you, a minority, are not catered to (a North American shares information regarding North Americans on a website predominantly used by North Americans).

Your response to the airline graphic made you look like a real "outraged snowflake" (your words, not mine). Instead of having a real stance on whether or not minorities should be catered to in any scenario, you just seem to flip flop based on what benefits you.

You will note that I did recommended airlines adequately cater to people with allergies, so your claim that I am against minorities is baseless.

Where I draw the line is banning peanuts or other food choices for 99% of the passengers based on the 1%.

Democracies are based on protecting the freedoms, choice and quality of life of the majority. Not impairing the lives of the majority and forcing them to bend over backwards at every juncture to cater to tiny minorities. Your idea of what makes an equitable society needs to meet with logic.

Lol So you're saying that Americans are justified in talking about america as if it was the world?

Why not just admit the mistake? or would that be too painful for your self esteem.

Catch my drift?

Re: 1%

Risk is defined by engineers as “probability times consequence.”

The public usually sees it as “probability times consequence plus outrage.”

Children going into anaphylactic shock may be low probability, but the consequence is high, as is the outrage factor.

Can we stop half-assing it and finally commit to raising our kids in plastic bubbles?

You cannot be serious?

They aren't talking about banning ANYTHING except peanuts. Honestly, what a drama queen.

Well, looks like KA did not make the list (according to TA, anyway).  Another crime against Korea...

Made the list in the Asia region. Asiana has won awards before as well.

These lists will have ups and downs and the gap between 1st and 8th might be negligible. Also, like many awards, the people handing out the awards may try to avoid the same companies every year.

Right...having two Japan based airlines in the top 10.

A crime against Korea.

 [Flight Attendant]  Here are your complimentary pretzels, sir!
>:( [Cyanea]  Where is my succulent peanut meal?!
 [Flight Attendant]  Sorry sir, by switching snacks we're preventing completely avoidable, possibly life-threatening allergic reactions.
>:( [Cyanea]  This is the bloke who took my peanuts, people! This is ... DEMOCRACY... MANIFEST!

I would rather have a stranger die than not have any peanuts for a 4 hour period.

/s obviously.

That said, it makes sense to ban peanuts from a strictly personal, selfish stance.

Imagine your plane was diverted cuz someone went into anaphylactic shock?

Choose one:
1. Not have peanuts on a plane.

2. Have the potential to get diverted, making a 4 hour flight a 12 hour ordeal in a place you didn't even intend on going to.

Yeah, I'll pick 1, thanks. There will be the argument that "Why not ban anything that people are allergic to" too and I get it, to a degree, but peanut is easily the farthest reaching and most severe one.
