I know a lot of the NETs who end up here are young and naive, but who actually believes this crap?
IT's possible, but only in the sense of the director calling the police and accusing the teacher of some serious crime. Which is illegal a la "filing a false police report."
About a dozen posts in the last two days--some of them spambots.
Please come out Friday even if you are sick. This is not a request, it is something you must do... even if COVID-19 is confirmed, it will not be quarantined. It's decided by Korea! You're sick...but there are children waiting for you!
Hagwons don’t believe in sick days. They wouldn’t give any vacation days either if there wasn’t a law preventing them from doing so.
And again, June 6th is a public holiday, but we are going to have classes without a break.
Foreigners have to be willing to demand high wages or not come here. Go work at home instead or go teach in China (for much better money)
Working on a public holiday? I’d tell them “Thanks but see you the day after”.
Please understand. The children are waiting. Please fulfill your responsibilities.
My apologies. I love working there so much that I will teach for free on weekends. No need for a break as working for you gives me all the energy I need.
I was given the keys for my school so that I could come in yesterday for some extra prep work. Can never be too ready.
I know this is a joke. But I've got a story. xDDuring my deskwarming periods, my travel schools normally agree that I should deskwarm at my main school, even on the days that I'm supposed to be at their locations. It's easier for everyone. But my second year here, one travel school absolutely insisted that I deskwarm there, despite the fact that absolutely no one else would be there, not even the groundskeeper. This is in a remote area, there's only one bus, and you have to wait 1-2 hour intervals for it. I asked them for the key to get into the school, and they refused, so I naively took this to mean that someone would be there to let me in. So I get there on the day of, it's raining heavily, and all of the doors are locked. I wait for about 15 minutes, get pissed, try to call my travel school's English teacher who refuses to answer the phone, and I end up calling my main coT. He calls the English teacher, and she ****** answers the phone for him, and then she tells him that no one is going to come unlock the doors because it's the holidays and I need to understand that.So he gets mad and asks her why in the ****** hell they wanted me to be at the travel school if this is how they were going to be about it, and she was all like, "Because today is our day with her." So basically, she had expected me to just sit outside the school all day, in the ****** rain, because I couldn't be trusted with the key and no one else should have to come in for any reason because it was the holiday. My coT was livid, haha. He came and got me, treated me to some coffee, and to this day I annoy everyone with needing to confirm every ****** thing no matter how common sense you would THINK it is.
