That was my thoughts exactly. >.<
Forgot to mention, they tried to cover it all up while I was grabbing the Korean teacher. Using deodorant to try mask the smell of smoke, hiding the lighters, and hiding the burnt paper / throwing it out the window. However, they didn't get enough time, and other students saw where they hid things, so it was easy to find everything.

lmfao, really wish I could be around to witness some of this shit sometimes. But it never seems to happen on my watch, which is kind of funny considering how many students think they can get away with doing stupid BS when it's only the foreign teacher around.

Not sure how those students expected to avoid getting into trouble. Even if they'd managed to hide and destroy all of the evidence, you saw them do it, lmao. What, were they going to claim that you only misunderstood what they were doing?

Worst I've seen so far is students assaulting other students, but I always seem to hear about "big" things happening in my school while I don't happen to be there.

If it's going to happen, I want to see it happen.

Exactly! A lot of the students at this school are known for being delinquents too.
Soccer students, that only care about soccer, they are often rude to everyone who is not on the soccer team, including the teachers, and principal.
So if it did come down to a he said, she said thing, I'm confident the school would have had my back. Even if they didn't - other students saw it too.

Yeah, I'd like to see more big things happen too. While, I don't want the students to get hurt or anything, it'd at least be.. fascinating... to see haha.

Taxi drivers should be screened so that the chatty are weeded out. It should be only ppl who would rather listen to their music or radio program while ignoring you and driving you safely from Point A to Point B.
this is true. also, hairdressers, but only because i don't want to talk

I just want to be a school "war" veteran with stories so high in the fuckery that people would swear I was making them up. I want to have that one story that trumps them all in a "one-up" story battle.

That would also be pretty rad :p

I've never had so many colds in my entire life!  Back in the States, I've had two colds... two!  And that's including infancy.  Here, I'm going on #5.  I just got over a cold and now I have another one.  Most of my kids are better at covering their mouths and noses when they cough or sneeze.  Not my CoT's...  they just spew every where... dang it!

I only have one good horror story. At a school I taught at in Japan I caught a kid with a shank. This was a rural school and we had a lot of trouble with kids injuring others. Students and teachers sent to the hospital.

He had taken a box cutter apart and took out the blade. He then attached a paper handle to the end of it. Think of him turning it into a big knife. He then made a sheath for it out of paper as well. When I first saw it I thought it was just a paper "sword". Then during class he opened it up and started playing with it. I walked right up to him and told him to give it to me. I waited until he did then I walked away. My CT was teaching at the time. She was like what's up? I said we will talk about it later. After class I showed it to her and she didn't really care. So I took it to my other CT (the VP of the school). She was shocked and had some words with that kid.

I got yelled at by my company for putting myself in danger, but honestly I had this kid for 2 years. I was not afraid of him and knew he wouldn't hurt me. I had made friends with most of them because I am a country girl. I would happily chase them with frogs during recess. Tried to give me a "present"....I think it is cute. Want to play?
Still probably not the brightest moment.

It seemed like today everyone just forgot that doors can also be closed. I can't even count how many times I've stood up to close the door so my legs wouldn't freeze in this office. Students and teachers alike

I watched the first episode of “The Romanoffs” on Prime, and really enjoyed it. The characters are well developed.

... but it turns out that it is an anthology, so I don’t get to spend any more time with these new friends!

Last night, one of my Japanese friends had messaged me, to let me know she recently got married, as well as catching up, as we hadn't really spoken too much in the last couple years. She moved to the Philippines, and me to Korea; She also has 2 kids and stuff.
I randomly start getting these messages from her saying I should block her.
It got weird, and then she said, someone had used her FB on her phone and erased our chat history (I assumed her new husband, but didn't say anything), but mentioned, I just got messages saying I should block her.
Now, her husband has tried to contact me via facebook, and he has practically spam spent lots of photos of my friend and himself to me. Like it's a passive aggressive way of saying "Back off, this is MY wife." type thing.

I'm not sure if I should tell her, or just leave him to spam messages I won't read, as it just goes to my 'other' folder that doesn't give me notifications and stuff (As I haven't given him permission to contact me). And I rarely check that haha.

Has anyone else been getting that George Clooney Nescafe ad on YouTube? It comes up almost every time. It's the one where he is a knight and slays the dreaded dragon. Man that ad is so bad and cheesy that it's almost good. If cheesy and memorable was their purpose then they really achieved it. I really should get the no ads version of YouTube.

Yikes!  In that situation I would just ignore the messages but also not tell her.  I think it's best not to get involved.

Yeah, that's the kind of stance I'm taking now :p
If we keep talking, and it happens more often (him going onto her facebook to say things to me, then maybe I'll drop it :P ) but until that point, I'll just ignore it haha

As I've made clear to some of you on here, I don't intend to stay past the next semester (things could change). I was given a choice last month to either move apartments and keep teaching middle school, or keep my apartment and start teaching Elementary. I figured it'd be too much of a hassle to move with only six months left so I took the latter offer.

I got a call yesterday from a teacher from the new Elementary school I was intended for, and he asked me about moving to the neighborhood (which is about the same distance from where I live as my current second school). I told him I'd be fine taking the bus, but he kept on insisting that I move closer. I told him we should talk later, as school had just ended.

Cut to now, another NET from my neighborhood texts me about switching schools. He currently lives right next to the new school I'd be attending, and I live in walking distance from the school he'd be attending. I thought it was a win-win, as long as the higher-ups were ok with it. I gave him the green light to ask.

Now my CT calls me telling me that I have to move (!!!!!!!!!!) because according to the superintendent, the previous choice was made since my friend has a car so he could travel the further distance. She also tells me that I have to return all the things that the school bought for my apartment (there's a list, but aside from the toaster and table, I'm not sure what else they'd be taking back), but somehow the choice is still in my hands to make.

Everything is so backwards, even my friend is upset because the school he wants to trade for is literally viewable from his apartment window. I just want something to make sense. I even told my CT I don't intend to stay much longer, but everyone knows what's best for us NETs I suppose.

Rather than keep us both have a place within walking distance, let's move one and force the other to drive 20 minutes.

Frustration is too simple to describe how I'm feeling :blank:

Why do 8 to 12 adjummas think its okay to come in Starbucks and treat it like their own personal coffeeshop.  Scream talking and moving all the tables and chairs around to suit their oversized group.  Leaving no chairs at tables that should have two.  Then they leave.. and they don't freaking put the tables or chairs back to where they took them from..   Makes me rage at their selfishness.

There's this cute coffee shop by my house. Very small and owned by two young guys. There's books everywhere and it's pretty quiet. Lots of people study and read there. If you're with someone, you feel the need to whisper. One day I was in there and this group of 5 woman entered and it was as loud as can be. Really ruined the vibe of the place and a few people started to leave. It's something I would expect at a Starbucks, but people do it everywhere!
