I would argue that sugar is far far worse.

There really is no comparison.

Also cotton candy is literally poison.

It's true.

what's your thing with sugar? i've seen you compare it to literal poison a bunch of times when it comes up in threads. i'm genuinely curious.
Not sure if you are being sincere with your question, but if I had to venture a guess, it is probably because it is terrible for the human body.

pecan - i wasn't asking you

just tried to send basedcowboy & pecan a pm but not sure if it went through...

basedcowboy - i was asking you about the poison-sugar thing. i didn't know if it was some kind of running joke or you really have some kind of diet or allergy thing.

pecan - i should've been more specific, but i was asking basedcowboy the question about sugar.

cheers fellas

I dread one of my fourth grade classes every week. Every time I walk in there are boys running around, wrestling, and crying and the teacher is nowhere to be seen. When the teacher does finally come into the classroom he just plays on his phone the whole time while the kids mess around.

His computer is slow and barely functions. Today it refused to read my flash drive, and I was worried that it broke, but it works fine for me, so his trash computer is the problem. The kids barely listen, and are constantly playing with glue, scissors, or hitting their neighbor. Every week I just want to walk out of that class and never go back.

The English classroom is free during this class, but he flat out said no to having class in there, and I don't understand why. It would be 100% better, and it's barely a 20 second walk from his classroom, so it wouldn't be trouble to go there.

I designated this week as "Not give a f**k" week, but I've been burning the candle at both ends and I'm so exhausted. So ready to do nothing tonight, but I have a teacher's trip with my school tomorrow. It'll be fun, but I'm sure you imagine there would be a dozen other things I'd rather be doing on a Saturday.

The next three weeks will be dedicated to sobriety and self reflection. I may actually get around to doing Jordan Peterson's Self-Authoring Suite.

Onwards and upwards, friends.

In the same boat, my friend. It's been turned on twice, I think. And always at the request of sleeping students.

This is me with my after school class. It's with elementary grades 3 and 4 and they are a nightmare bunch. Today a kid threatened to throw a marker out the window. I had this super cool game idea but 2 students completely ruined it. I have tried everything with this class. Movies, Pixar clips (worked well for one week), various games, etc. Nothing works. I am out of ideas. So if anyone would like to share how to have a successful after school class with elementary grades 3 and 4 I would greatly appreciate it.

Do a three strike warning. Don't shout, don't do anything. Three strikes and then yell YA!!!! and give them lines to write out (the first time you do this, they won't actually do any of the lines). After that class speak to your KET/handler and have them ask the VP to pop into the next class you have with those students for a few minutes and give them the evil eye, Pretend to have a chat with him, holding the attendance register and point to names on the list.

Life will change after that.

I wish my least favorite school would tell me ANYTHING about what's going on at the school.
Friday, I didn't have my 6th period class, which was nice, but no one told me. I walked around the school and saw that all the students and teachers were gone, but I had no idea before that point.

Also, next week that have their last exams for the semester, but I haven't been told what chapters are on the test so I can prepare the students. I feel like I'm always on an island there.

It's as hot as hell. No aircon. Why? Just why? I have been given a fan. I should go to sleep and hope the fan ends the sweaty boob hell I am in right now.  :blank:

Politely refusing to go to school dinners/trips 2 years ago was the best thing I have ever done.

I know how you feel.  I really like my travel school, but my coteacher there is not good about telling me things.  I showed up to school on June 5th only to find out it was closed.  I've taken it upon myself to become a bit of a pest about asking for dates and confirming classes.

I had a good time. My school is small so we're all pretty tight. It's just sitting on the floor for lunch for 1.5 hours that kills me.

Where's the water? They axed all the fountains long ago and the water machines not that long ago. They used to keep the fridge stocked with bottled water. Now, we've got nothing. It's 32°C. We don't have the air conditioning turned on yet either. Are they trying to kill us?
