I have to finish up making some worksheets for stories from this book, but the back and forth eye motion required to read, then write questions in the separate word processor window triggers my nauseaonly 15 stories down, 13 to go

The open forum, life in Korea forum, and all the others cover all topics relating to life in Korea. That's kinda what I was thinking. What sort of things does someone living in Korea need to know about that wouldn't be covered in those sub-forums? Is the answer to questions like "What do I do with my recyclables" not the same for non-teachers? Is it really just an "I want to associate with people who aren't teachers" thing?Foreigners working as teachers in Korea have certain common traits, non-teachers do not share those. It's not like most people I know involved in business in this area would want to post on a teacher forum. Some people (like me) do, but you just get standard "teacher type" responses (as just happened).I am correct that it would benefit this site to just create a non-teacher forum (the customer is always right), people do not need to understand why...just do it.Completely unrelated to your rant, but this could not be more wrong.

Right? Has this person ever worked retail? Hah. The customer always has an opinion, would be more accurate.

I probably would have hurt my eyes if I had tried to roll them any farther back when I worked retail.
example: I walk into Burger King and ask for a Big Mac. I am told that they can't do that, but would gladly sell me a Whopper. If I insist on a Big Mac, I will be asked to leave.

I probably would have hurt my eyes if I had tried to roll them any farther back when I worked retail. I always thought that that statement was truncated. The rest of it is "...but the supplier chooses who is considered a customer."The negotiations about what the proactive customer wants allow the supplier to determine this.example: I walk into Burger King and ask for a Big Mac. I am told that they can't do that, but would gladly sell me a Whopper. If I insist on a Big Mac, I will be asked to leave.

If I insist on a Big Mac, I will be asked to leave. My brother's first job was at a Wendy's in a university town. He worked the late shift during a time when a manager wasn't there for at least a couple of hours, and every night he got at least one customer insisting that he sell him or her a Big Mac.They were usually high or drunk, though, and asking them to leave usually didn't work. xDWhen he first started, the below was a very typical interaction.Cust: I'll take a Big Mac.Him: Sir, this is Wendy's. We don't sell Big Macs.Cust: Don't lie to me, I ordered a Big Mac from here yesterday.Him: I was here yesterday, and, yes, you did, and I told you we don't sell Big Macs.Cust: But I ate it.Him: You ate a Double. That's what we have here.Cust: No, no, I see what you're doing here. You're just trying to get me to spend more money on something else, but I want my Big Mac.Him: You see that building over there? *points towards the window near the doors* There's a McDonald's right over there and they'll be happy to sell you a Big Mac.Cust: But I'm here right now and I want a Big Mac.Him: I can sell you a Double.Cust: I don't want a Double, I want a Big Mac.Him: We don't sell Big Macs, this is Wendy's. You can buy a Big Mac from McDonald's. Cust: But I see a picture of a Big Mac right up there.Him: That's a Double, sir.Cust: Give me a ****** Big Mac.Him: ... okay, sir, one Big Mac. *Rings up a Double*He eventually learned to skip most of that and just gave them whatever was closest and let them think what they wanted. It was easier.

Over on Dave's, you'd just get unilaterally kicked off with no explanation. Such a blowhole; haven't been on that site in ages. At least take solace that we're entering a new anti PC world.
