If people want to buy Hennessy and expensive jewelry that’s their choice.
You know Shejang.com IS the Foreign Food Mart, right? They have both their site and their app. You can get everything delivered to your door for 3,000 won. And before anyone says "But you have to pay 3,000 won" (as the types who still are bound to their Foreign Food Mart exclusively and go there on foot might be prone to do) The opportunity-cost of you spending 2 hours traveling by subway to go there is easily offset by that 3,000 won delivery fee. Incidentally, a lot of the stuff you're buying on Amazon or wherever, you might be able to find on Coupang or 11st for cheaper and often delivered more reliably. I really encourage you to give it a shot, try some different services and not be afraid of stepping outside of your comfort zone. "Koreans complain about Korean apps" doesn't really sound like a reason, it sounds like an excuse not to try in the first place. Everyone complains about every app. People complain about Amazon. Even the gold standard of iherb once effed up one of my orders. Stuff happens. The only person you're screwing over with this "No Korean Apps, No Delivery" stance is yourself. It's literally self-destructive. You aren't some hero standing against the tide. You're just being stubborn as a mule.
WTH is up with you dude? You have worked yourself into apoplexy trying to get another human being into spending their own money the way YOU think they should.Just drop it and see someone.Sheesh!
Uhm..."You know there's this thing called Coupang, right?" isn't really that off. It's like someone complaining about not being able to buy stuff and someone telling them there's Amazon and them throwing a hissy fit that Amazon is "too hard". It's on the level of complaining ordering a pizza over the phone is too hard.
Instead of ordering an item from Coupang that is available from the Foreign Food Mart, I will always choose to go up to the foreign food mart. I enjoy it. I head in, browse, and after head for a special meal somewhere.
And I will continue to laugh at 26 year old women making 30 000 a year who spend 1150$ on a bag so that they don't feel "left out." In b4 It's subjective, but does anyone think that this pattern is some masterstroke of design, beauty and/or art? It's SOLELY to tell people "F you, I can affor this/Look, I'm not homeless."
But you're on the level of 10 to 20 abusive posts calling a guy an idiot for not spending his own money the way you think he should--or want him to or something. He don't wanna use Coupang. Leave him the fcuk alone about it!
Just curious: would you treat the elderly Koreans (or anyone else) who go down to the local wet market at 8:00am and buy a day's worth of vegetables with cash the same way?
Marti, I know you want to feel superior but that’s just not going to happen on this website. Your reputation precedes you. You’re a bitter troll. Let’s see if this helps you. Instead of ordering an item from Coupang that is available from the Foreign Food Mart, I will always choose to go up to the foreign food mart. I enjoy it. I head in, browse, and after head for a special meal somewhere. I’m sorry you want me to be in awe of your app skills, but I am not. I have barely even looked at those apps or sites. Don’t need or want them. If there is something I absolutely need from there my gf gets it.
That would be a lot easier for Koreans than for me. I can rely on my girlfriend and Korean friends to an extent, but they have kids and jobs.
I don’t have the skills to order food to my door three times a day.
Thirded...in person shopping is great. Way better experience than ordering online. What you see is what you buy, and social interaction is always fun. Also, not saying that getting your SO to order something for you isn't pretty handy, especially being a bumpkin living away from the city.
Biking is good for health. It’s a cool thing to do.
For once L I and I agree on something. Cycling is a great hobby. I did 70km this past weekend. On Saturday I rode to the river, took the ferry across, rode along the river, took the ferry across again, and came home. On Sunday I rode to a local bar for brunch. I posted my gear in the cycling gear topic to show you guys how cool my bike looks. I bought the bike from a shop but most of the accessories online. I got the best of both worlds. If only China would legalize weed then my cycling trips would be the cat's meow. I was with a buddy. He had Covid but since I took three doses of the vaccine I'll be totally fine. He offered to wear a mask but I told him it wouldn't be an issue.
markKrackpot is a menace and is protected by the custodians. By insta-locking the job posts it prevents noobs from seeing the red flags that us long timers would comment on. I noticed they stopped doing that whole rainbow mod edit thing as well. Sad!
