Not gonna lie. When I saw that Van had posted that and locked the thread, I laughed out loud for about five minutes.

I just saw that.  He locked the heroes thread because of a funny joke that he didn't subjectively appreciate.  So, thread locked, and he has the nerve to indignantly write today "I.Let.You.Do.Your.T hing."   Van has an absolutely flexible relationship to the truth.

I edited that comment for an ad hominen, and I edited the same thing in the following person's comment where they quoted it.
Sometimes I don't bother, but when they're especially viscious or mean spirited I edit it them out. Spliced's comment wasn't particularily either, but it was pretty gross. Well, *really* gross. Grossly gross, you could say.
I really *do* try not to remove parts of comments that are important to the point the person is making (unless, you know, the point they're trying to make is viscious, mean-spirited, or exceptionally gross etc).

Story from today's The Korea Herald: "The country reported 26,256 new COVID-19 infections, including 67 from overseas,"...?

Seriously? Wasting 28 characters on ADDING the number of foreigners when the number is miniscule?!

Months ago was a headline about foreigners at Incheon airport with the virus and the story itself detailed how Korean passengers were also infected, at an actual higher percentage, and if you compared both the rate and the total number, ... absurd.

Edit: maybe by "including 67" the denotative & connotative meanings (sorry, Philosophy major here) were split, the idea lost in translation: "with only 67" would then be the intention; otherwise the number would be left off 'cuzofinsignificance .

They've been releasing the daily figures like that, literally every day for the last 30+ months. Where have you been?
The Center of Disease Control or whatever agency in charge, releases the daily numbers that way and then all media outlets report it like that.

And no, cases from overseas does not mean foreign nationals. It means ''imported cases'' that were detected in individuals arriving from abroad. Koreans and all other nationalities included.

Conversation this morning in the teachers' room.  Someone gave everyone apples.  Vice principal takes a big bite. 

Teacher: "Vice principal, how is the taste?" 
Vice principal: "The taste is delicious."
Teacher: "Oh, the taste is delicious?"
Vice principal "Yes, it's delicious."

For all his perceived flaws, I suspect the vast majority of posters would support Van over you being a mod. There is A LOT worse out there.

Whatever Van's faults are, they are relatively minor compared to what could be taking place and has happened in other forums.

Not sure if it's a rant.  Korean co teacher told me this morning in a chat that wages appear low but there are other bonuses, top offs, and other payments that make it much more.  My teacher is an older teacher in his 50's.  He said he has taught for 23 years and makes the equivalent of 6 million won a month.  One of those new teachers now getting 2 million a month is closer to 2.3 or 2.4.  So, imagine a teacher who has been teaching for 10 years, they are over 3 mil total (more than base salary). 

Some Korean teachers did rant the past couple of years that I made more than them, but that was a pile of BS.  Base salary of theirs and ours might seem off.  But the other add ons and bonuses make theirs more than ours or at least in the long term.  This is more so true in the 5 to 10 years and beyond once they start teaching.  The dishonest ones aren't adding their other bonuses and payouts. 

I will also add a friend had a couple of friends with masters and other training who applied for EPIK but were not hired because they didn't want to hire a level 1 salary.  (In the cities, what is that?  2.3 or 2.4?)  Not even that much money.

Epik doesnt disclose why some teachers werent selected for positions. they operate on a first come first served basis. if your friends werent selected for a position, I suspect that its because they submitted their application later than others who did.  my bad, your friend's friends...  Now, after having looked at that, I suspect its just a lie. Or, in their interview, they came off as awkward, creepy, not energetic, no charisma, little intonation, or boring. I wouldn't hire a boring person with a masters to teach in EPIK over an energetic person with some pep in their step.

It's been a while since we've heard about some friends of friends of friends from you. Random people on facebook aren't your friends. Did EPIK really provide feedback after the interview telling them they weren't hired because they'd be too high on the pay scale?

Well, the one time I was wrong about you kids.  I figured you or New Orleans would have done something like that to troll me later.  I was wrong this one time.  But I did do a reddit search for that name and nothing came up.  So, I assumed it was a new account then when I couldn't sign up for it.  I am hangook777 on there.  That one is me.  Weigookin is not me, though the few posts on pay and work conditions do make sense.  But I haven't read every post of his.  So, who knows?  I am also not the Tooth Ferry, Santa Clause, Spiderman, or Will Smith.

I'll tell you there are some women who go out to a club to dance but also to boost their ego.  I'll also tell you I had been out even a year before coming here when I was in my late 20's having gotten dragged out by some co workers getting approached.  Especially on student night when some girl was celebrating her 19th or 20th birthday and her friends trying to set them up with me to get her friend "laid".  I had never met them before.  I did walk around with a I don't give a sh!t if I meet someone or not attitude though.  Maybe smacking of desperation might have been different?  Not really sure; I really tried not to be a man whore or a jiggilo back in the day.  I liked classy women who didn't look like they belonged in Antifa with their tattoos, died spiked multi colored hair, who didn't skank around (IE sleeping with 50 or 100 guys).  So, I tried to be a nice enough fellow myself.  Not saying I never ever lost it to desire and temptation though.  No one is perfect.  Anyhow, there are women out looking for guys, but they have to be really attracted to you.  If they aren't attracted to you, then move on.  Don't waste your time or energy.  Don't harass or put fear into people.  No one deserves that.  I've met women who shrugged their shoulders and thought nothing of me while others practically became my stalkers.  Either way, guys, screaming obscenities at women who aren't attracted to you or becoming a creepy stalker aren't going to make you more desirable somehow.

Are you pretending you didn't notice the reaction your insulting comments caused on Monday, or are you just doing the "no accountability" thing and just trying to post as if nothing happened?  You do have that down. 

Anyways, you need to address your posting the other day before you can just blithely go back to just posting random thoughts.  You won't hold yourself to account, Arsalan won't hold you to account, but the posters here have gotten sick of you dodging responsibility as a mod for your actions.

And Van, don't go sending me any creepy: "I don't have to answer to you.." emails to my personal account.  That was unsettling and inappropriate.

I used a throwaway email when I registered on this site and haven't logged into it since.

It's a good way to dodge spam and creeps with boundary issues.
