Red or Green?

RED) Hey, let's take a side street with two left turns that goes through the apartment complex
OR
B) let's go straight with no left turns and is half the distance. He can cross the street.

I don't think he's stupid or trying to rip me off. but Jesus, we're already on a 6 lane road that flows well. I'm not some princess that needs to be dropped off at the door of my school.

Visa extension would not only be ďno problemĒ, but I was getting a 5-year extension!

What an enormous change! Now a looonng list of documents is needed as well as point requirements met just to get a one year extension. WTF! Any other point visa holders out there feeling this pain?

I got my points visa back in 2017, and haven't had to renew it yet, because the officer gave me five years off the bat, for some reason (which I'm glad I got). I'm still unsure why, but my theory is that it's because I went to a rural office, they weren't busy (I think there was one other person there), and I went alone, did the whole thing in Korean, and had all my documents prepped (they seemed prepared for me to be missing something, or not to have the right amount of cash on me, but I did my research - on that blog you posted).

After those changes, though, I'm switching to the marriage visa (which I'm lucky to be able to do), and hoping to change to a residency visa from that two years down the road.

five years off the bat

Same. Five years to one year is a hell of a downgrade. Takes so many documents to renew now. A harder process than for an E-2. For a public school teacher, whatís the advantage of the F-2-7 if itís just for a year? There is none I guess except for the hope the rules will revert to better. But seeing as how thereís been a continued downhill trajectory, Iíd be surprised if things started going in the other direction.

I make music. Post it online. When attractive women post pictures and/or videos they get waaaay more likes. I canít even compete. Iím getting blown out of the water. Social media users prefer their content to mine, and by a very large degree. I feel rejected and unwanted. Ouch, my ego. The hottest women have so much power in this world. They get the red carpet treatment in life. Iím realizing this more and more with each passing day.

Use something like Synthesia  when you make a video, and then you can be a Youtube-like-mining attractive woman too!

Perhaps he could post some of his own Youtube links here instead of so much Stossel. I'm sure he'd get much more support from us.

It works for K-Pop.

At least K-pop has been able to move on, unlike some dinosaurs who are still stuck in the 70s-80s and are now shaking their angry fists at music clouds and upset that kids aren't listening to 50 year old songs played by 70 year old rockers.

Remember 10 years ago on these forums when teachers would talk about their students being butt-hurt because they didn't know some random K-Pop group and they weren't a big deal? Now we've come full circle. Now we have NETs butt-hurt that young people aren't listening or aware of their music.

I love rock, but the meltdown that rock fans have been having over the past 6-8 years is truly glorious and frankly, it's well-deserved.

BTS wonít be played 50 years from now. K-pop has a low longevity because everyone is doing the same thing.

In all likelihood, rock is probably going to go the way of jazz. Kpop will end up like The Andrews Sisters or whatever.

What I don't get is why this makes rock fans angry. You look at them and they all get upset that people nowadays like different music. Who gives a shit if rockers 50 years from now will be moderately bigger than pop groups of this period?

Also, are we sure about that? Rock might end up becoming a semi-ethnic-regional thing like country music. I mean if 20 years ago you said that rock would be dead and completely out of the top charts to the point where KOREAN POP songs draw bigger numbers on the U.S. charts, you'd have been called crazy. This idea that rock will last forever in some way or that 100 years form now people will still be listening to The Beatles might not actually be that case. Rock could even get more obscure than Country, it might end up in polka or hymn territory or like something like Sousa or campfire songs. There's probably a lot of people who thought "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean" and brass bands would last for 100 years as something popular. Then along came this thing called "Jazz" and things sure have changed. Then again, it might die out as an American music form but still persist in many other countries.

But this is all a side discussion to the issue of why does it bother you that young people now like different music?
