Korea has done an absolute shit job at procuring vaccines.

Percentage fully vaccinated:
USA: 41%
Korea: 0.5%

How long until 1% of South Koreaís population becomes fully vaccinated?

Why do you use "over 18s" for the US but total population for Korea? 41% of the US population over 18 has been vaccinated. 32.7% of the total population has been vaccinated. It's better to compare like for like. The US is so far ahead, even when making the more accurate comparison. Why do you choose to use misleading statistics?

How is it misleading? Both are stats I read in online newspapers.

You're trying to make a comparison between the United States and South Korea. The two figures you used do not measure the same thing. It's an inaccurate comparison. The inaccuracy is unnecessary because the US is clearly so far ahead in its vaccination program. 32.7% vs 0.6% total population vaccinated.

Today is 18C / 64F.

Office heater says 25C / 77F.

This consumption of fossil fuels is contributing to air pollution (of which there is no safe level).

You are right.
But don't we all use energy (and therefore harming the environment one way or another) for doing things that are not at all necessary?

Coronavirus isnít that dangerous. Only if you are very weak can it kill you. Exceptionally healthy people almost certainly will feel nothing.

How many Americans died? Well under 1 in 500. Many of whom were going to die soon anyways.

Worldwide how many died? Well under 1 in 1,000.

Other things kill way more - air pollution, smoking, alcohol, obesity.

The less people get vaccinated, the more coronavirus will spread, resulting in more deaths (even thought it wonít be many, proportionally speaking) and a diminished quality of life.

I donít want to have to keep wearing a mask for years to come. And social distance. And not be able to travel abroad.

Who wants these things?

While I am frustrated by the slow speed of the vaccination plan here, I wouldn't wish to have spent the last 12-15 months in the US as opposed to Korea.

Coronavirus deaths in America: going down
Coronavirus deaths in Korea: going up

I just hope this pandemic can be over soon. Iím sick of it. Want to enjoy life. The more this pandemic drags on, the more we lose out. I pray herd immunity can reached. (The more vaccine delays, the less likely that is to happen.)

I would. Because masks are / were optional there, same with social distancing. (Depending on the area.)

Coronavirus isnít even dangerous to a healthy person. Why worry about it? Just keep your body strong and your immune system will neutralize the virus so quickly you wonít even know youíve had it.

Coronavirus deaths in Korea: going up

Is this true? Since March 1 there has been 1 day with deaths in double figures (March 10 with 10 deaths). Deaths in Korea have gone down since a spike in late December and early January (and that spike peaked at 40 deaths in one day) and have remained low.

Some states in the USA reported no deaths for a day. Definitely going down there.

I didn't suggest they weren't going down in the US. I was just wondering about the "Coronavirus deaths in Korea: going up" part. That's why I only quoted that part of your post.

The rules about businesses having to close by 9pm and groups restricted to four people or less are having a good impact in Korea. Slowing the spread. Not a fun way to live, but I guess weíve go to do it. It helps less people catch coronavirus.

Cases are down from a Dec / Jan peak (though starting to go up a bit).

More people in Korea die from air pollution than from coronavirus. Around the world it kills more (and weakens immune systems, increasing likelihood of death from coronavirus) ... but not a lot is being said / done about that.
