CT: Matahari teacher we will clean on Friday for open classes.
ME: When will we clean because I have 8 classes on a Friday remember, so only time is lunchtime.
CT: Yes, you can clean lunchtime.
ME: But I need to eat at lunchtime.
CT: No, we clean lunchtime, I also have classes.
ME: Yes, but you only have 3 classes.
CT: *puts in earbuds*

I didn't even know there were 8 periods in a day. Do you teach an after school club?

Things I have endured over the last week.

CT: Matahari, we need to move your 6 open classes to next week. Please give us lesson plans today.
ME: Okay, I will do 3 today and 3 tomorrow.
CT : No, today.
ME: I have classes all day.
CT : Yes, today

Tonight I will drink wine. ALL the wine.

Can you tell your coT it's impossible? If your coT tries to argue, keep interjecting IMPOSSIBLE? Yikes.

Or keep insisting tomorrow instead? Like if she says "no, today," insist "classes today. Lesson plans tomorrow."  >:(

Oh wow, at my public elementary schools there were only I think... 6 periods. I don't fully remember now, it was 2 years ago. Maybe 7. But I sure never taught that many. I don't envy you. I'm sorry though, you gotta fight for your right to eat!

I believe that most public middle schools have 7 regular class periods, plus a home room period (0th period), as well as an 8th at the end of the day if the school has an after school programme.
It's hypothetically possible for me to teach 9 periods a day, although thank Jeebus that *that* has never happened. On the very rare occasion where I'm stuck with 8 classes, my coteachers are all apologetic and generally try to make it up to me by telling me that they promise not to notice if I accidentally go home a bit early the next day.

Ah your CT's are awesome, and - hell if I ever had to teach nine classes, I would probably have to drink at lunch time.

- NEIS is a hot piece of sh*t.

- It's picture day and the only indication I got was a message sent to my computer yesterday at 16:48.

End of rant.

You... you got notified about picture day? Before picture day?

Truly, the fates smile upon you, sir.

Also, what's wrong with NEIS? I mean, it's clunky, but once you learn how to use it, it's pretty quick and simple.
Yeah it kinda seems like an issue of your coworkers not notifying you sooner, but I can't see how neis is to blame.

Pretty sure NEIS and finding out about photo day are separate things. But, finding out a day before photo day is fine. I mean, how long do you need to prepare for photo day?

Check the time; the message was sent after she left for home. I'm sure prior messages were sent far in advance, but in Korean. Sorry nobody filled you in~

As someone who used to do interface design things, I would love to take a copy of neis. Because it's basically exactly how you shouldn't design an interface.

Every one who designed neis is a stupid idiot and shouldn't be allowed around computers. A second year php programmer at uni could do better, and I know many high school students who could probably do better as well.

Minor rant, but... today, as I was standing at the front of the class teaching, my CT decided that would be perfect time to stand right in front of me and use an electric pencil sharpener. Because, you know, she couldn't wait a whole 30 seconds until I was finished right? It had to be IMMEDIATELY. It's not like the students even needed a pencil right then and there either. It was pretty loud so I stopped talking while she was doing her thing, HOPING she would realize she's interrupting. But no...she kept on going. :undecided:

I am taking an online university course. It was supposed to cost $280. I check my account and I have $1400 outstanding. I swear, to work at a university you should have at least graduated elementary school.

Yes. NEIS is an utter abomination. Once you put something in the system, you can't edit it! Better hope you ticked every box and added every staff member name that's required, because miss one and you're going to be deleting that entry and putting it all back in from scratch. Then there's the pop-ups, electronic certificates, lists of names you can click on that it's entirely not clear you can click on and more pop-ups. There aren't even clear "OK" and "CANCEL" buttons when you're putting something in! Is it too much to ask for a simple 확인 and 취소 in an intuitive location?

^Yes. I find it annoying that even though I specifically type "google.com" it automatically switches to "google.co.kr." And then after I search for something (having typed in English), it asks me if I want the search results in English.
