Dunno if it's related, but there are more Mongolian immigrants in SK than in any other country.

Yeah, like 90% of the local population.

Koreans are aware of their Mongolian ancestral brothers.

Thatís exactly what scientists experience every single day.

I read that 8-10% of central and east Asians can trace their ancestry directly to Genghis Khan.

American schools are faced with an unprecedented catch-22 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic: Either reopen safely and undertake the risk of a coronavirus outbreak or play it safe and provide unappealing remote classes for their students.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/colleges-are-backtracking-reopen-inperson-124357492.html

Many colleges initially planned to open campuses for in-person classes, betting on the fact that the coronavirus wouldnít massively derail the safety of their campuses. But by the beginning of August, that number had dwindled: Now less than a quarter of schools are choosing to go the in-person route.

At the K-12 level, a list compiled by Education Week noted that most K-12 school districts are also playing it safe and opting for remote learning.

So come September most American schools won't open even with all students wearing masks?

(Is that an appropriate precaution?)

In this video most of the customers aren't wearing masks:

Kids can be packed together at a putt putt golf and arcade center but can't go to school because it's too dangerous?

at my school they like to change the school schedule every 2 or 3 weeks for absolutely no reason. so far this year i've had about 8 different schedules, each more convoluted than the last

the only plus side is that it's nice working with other native teachers, as we can all complain about it together

I was all set to take my daughter back to America to start K3 at a Montessori school in Milwaukee before the pandemic washed over the country. A couple months back I had heard from them saying that they had planned to still have in-person sessions and I hadnít heard from them since, so I sent an email saying I think Iím going to have to withdraw my kid. The administrator told me there would be a Zoom meeting for parents with the principal in a couple days.(why hadnít I heard about this earlier??) Attended the meeting and now it sounds like things will be entirely remote, at least for that age group, so Iíll try keeping her enrolled after all.

Maybe had we closed the putt putt golf courses and arcades (and bars, for Christís sake) over the summer we could have something like a regular school year in the fall, but instead we tried not to let it ruin our summer and now we drank away our childrenís future.

I was going to graduate with my BSN this fall but ó though they toyed with the idea ó they arenít conducting clinicals online, so Iíll have to split my final semesterís courses, taking my online courses remotely over the fall and the clinical courses over the spring.

At what point does the sweat dropping off your head become enjoyable?

I just started the vacation. Kevin, this is YOUR time.

Honestly, I was at a cool makgeolli spot.

A guy came in. With his gf.

I was 80 percent of the way through my meal. This guy really fucked it though.

We've all been on the train. We've all been in line for something. We've heard the coughs. We've felt the sneezes. We've cocked our brow.

We've all done this a thousand times. Tonight? It was different.

Look, I'm in a different place. It doesn't make it anymore safe or anymore dangerous than Uiwang. But it is different.

Young guy. 26? Maybe? Comes in with his girlfriend. Fine.

The coughing. Jesus. I just finished my meal. I'm happy. My second 메밀국수 of the day. This guy. Jesus.

This guy coughs. Like. A real deep, throaty cough. Every minute. I can handle a sneeze. I can handle a cough. But I can't handle a deep, throaty cough every 60 seconds. Sorry. This guy was consistent as shit, too. I had to leave. I was halfway through my cocktail pitcher, too. Damn

I had to leave. There was no way I was staying there. I've heard a lot of coughs, A lot of sneezes. Nope!

Has anyone else had to leave a place due to some guy? Call me paranoid, but..... There comes a point!

I know this reads like the ramblings of a madman, but I maintain my point. Jesus. Stay home!

The monkey population has been able to keep their covid numbers remarkably low, thus avoiding the kind of societal level disruptions that we humans have forced ourselves into.

I dropped into Lotte Dept store this morning and there were 16 (I counted them) shop assistants/sommeliers in the wine section, which I'd say is a little bigger than your average convenience store.

Possibly but they were just hanging around. When I started looking at the wine, only one of them came over the pester me.  It didn't look like anyone was shadowing.
