I hear that you can watch movies on the interweb these days.

We can do that with the kid in the house though. Having the free time to go to the cinema is nice.

I believe I've made my love of cinema rather obvious on this site, no? hahahaha

Looks like the only option is tantric sex then, I guess you can only put it off for so long :(
During the daytime? You madman.

sent a package home to my sister for my nephew's birthday and included snacks and small gifts/notes for other family members in the area.......package arrives a few weeks before the nephew's birthday, but my entire family failed to tell me that my sister, her husband and the kids were going on a 6-week vacation....to a beach about an hour away. I let her know it was supposed to arrive and she said they will have to get it when they get back......so package arrives an hour after they leave and of course needs signature being an international package....note left...so I tell my sister it arrived and to make sure someone picks up the package. I guess my sister and her husband have never had this situation before because they did not ask anyone to go pick it up, nor did they pick it up themselves, or even call the post office......so fast forward 6 weeks and they come home and let me know they will go pick it up at the post office. So, I replied that it was probably on it's way back to Korea and indeed it was....so now I get to pay for return shipping via air of my larger package :)

Oof.

Weíre ďstill waitingĒ for an iPad sent via US Post to Korea back in January. (Quotes used because obviously itís never going to arrive at this point.)

sadly mine has arrived in Korea according to USPS and Korea Post tracking.....I would rather it just get lost so I don't pay 5 times what the package is worth after already paying for the original shipping.

Yeah. Korea to America, super cheap. America to Korea, holy sh**. We just got a package from my mom containing nothing more than a Curious George book. Shipping was $43. Thatís why I didnít get the tracking for the iPad I sent; it already costed more than enough without the tracking, and with the tracking I may as well just buy a new device. (Thanks for the extra push in that direction, underfunded USPS! I hope my iPad gets top dollar at the unclaimed mail auction!) luckily this was already several years old.

sometimes i like to help others on r/grammar, but, man, i do not understand it sometimes

one guy wanted help a while ago with something (about strong adjectives i think), so i linked some sources and told him the rules. i get downvoted into oblivion

so some other guy comes along and says "well if you look on google, many people use them like this". many upvotes

i pointed out that people make errors all of the time, and just because somebody typed something on a website, it doesn't mean it's correct. i also provided 10 sources from various textbooks proving my point. downvoted again

then a mod comes along and tells everyone "yeah don't worry about this guy everyone, i checked and his past posts and they also got downvoted". um...okay? thanks? but i'm still not wrong and was the only person to provide actual sources (rather than saying what they think "feels right" or how their mate down the pub speaks english)

then some other guy got upvoted for saying sources don't actually matter, as grammar usage is changing all of the time

so i said well yes grammar changes over time, but there's still rules to follow. why do dictionaries exist then? it's okay to tell your students newer, colloquial expressions but i wouldn't recommend they use them in any formal writing (which is what OP's question was regarding). downvoted

anyone else ever used this sub? it's mental

Dunno if it's related, but there are more Mongolian immigrants in SK than in any other country.

Yeah, like 90% of the local population.

Koreans are aware of their Mongolian ancestral brothers.

I read that 8-10% of central and east Asians can trace their ancestry directly to Genghis Khan.

American schools are faced with an unprecedented catch-22 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic: Either reopen safely and undertake the risk of a coronavirus outbreak or play it safe and provide unappealing remote classes for their students.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/colleges-are-backtracking-reopen-inperson-124357492.html

Many colleges initially planned to open campuses for in-person classes, betting on the fact that the coronavirus wouldnít massively derail the safety of their campuses. But by the beginning of August, that number had dwindled: Now less than a quarter of schools are choosing to go the in-person route.

At the K-12 level, a list compiled by Education Week noted that most K-12 school districts are also playing it safe and opting for remote learning.

So come September most American schools won't open even with all students wearing masks?

(Is that an appropriate precaution?)

In this video most of the customers aren't wearing masks:

Kids can be packed together at a putt putt golf and arcade center but can't go to school because it's too dangerous?

at my school they like to change the school schedule every 2 or 3 weeks for absolutely no reason. so far this year i've had about 8 different schedules, each more convoluted than the last

the only plus side is that it's nice working with other native teachers, as we can all complain about it together

I was all set to take my daughter back to America to start K3 at a Montessori school in Milwaukee before the pandemic washed over the country. A couple months back I had heard from them saying that they had planned to still have in-person sessions and I hadnít heard from them since, so I sent an email saying I think Iím going to have to withdraw my kid. The administrator told me there would be a Zoom meeting for parents with the principal in a couple days.(why hadnít I heard about this earlier??) Attended the meeting and now it sounds like things will be entirely remote, at least for that age group, so Iíll try keeping her enrolled after all.

Maybe had we closed the putt putt golf courses and arcades (and bars, for Christís sake) over the summer we could have something like a regular school year in the fall, but instead we tried not to let it ruin our summer and now we drank away our childrenís future.

I was going to graduate with my BSN this fall but ó though they toyed with the idea ó they arenít conducting clinicals online, so Iíll have to split my final semesterís courses, taking my online courses remotely over the fall and the clinical courses over the spring.

At what point does the sweat dropping off your head become enjoyable?

I just started the vacation. Kevin, this is YOUR time.

Honestly, I was at a cool makgeolli spot.

A guy came in. With his gf.

I was 80 percent of the way through my meal. This guy really fucked it though.

We've all been on the train. We've all been in line for something. We've heard the coughs. We've felt the sneezes. We've cocked our brow.

We've all done this a thousand times. Tonight? It was different.

Look, I'm in a different place. It doesn't make it anymore safe or anymore dangerous than Uiwang. But it is different.

Young guy. 26? Maybe? Comes in with his girlfriend. Fine.

The coughing. Jesus. I just finished my meal. I'm happy. My second 메밀국수 of the day. This guy. Jesus.

This guy coughs. Like. A real deep, throaty cough. Every minute. I can handle a sneeze. I can handle a cough. But I can't handle a deep, throaty cough every 60 seconds. Sorry. This guy was consistent as shit, too. I had to leave. I was halfway through my cocktail pitcher, too. Damn

I had to leave. There was no way I was staying there. I've heard a lot of coughs, A lot of sneezes. Nope!

Has anyone else had to leave a place due to some guy? Call me paranoid, but..... There comes a point!

I know this reads like the ramblings of a madman, but I maintain my point. Jesus. Stay home!
