Last night, my girlfriend's parents said that "she could do better" in front of me. And, that hurts. A lot.
This is further proof that foreigners are better off not learning the language here!
'Well she could do worse, she could be dating someone who pretends to be a woman on the internet!'
Definitely don't take Ronnie's blue pill advice. You'll be pandering to their delusion for the rest of time. They should be kissing your ass for offering to fill the void in their daughter's (and especially their granddaughter's) lives. Come on man, you're too old to be dealing with that shit. You're not 16 anymore. Do you really need that stone around your neck? Required reading: https://www.amazon.com/No-More-Mr-Nice-Guy/dp/0762415339
What it should do is make you try harder, through your actions and words.
Her mother will phone her, like, 4 times a day and video call once with the grandkid......EVERY DAY. Like, holy hell, They live 35 mins away, they're not starved for interaction with their daughter/grand daughter.
Thanks for the kind words, guys. Yeah, 아깝다 came up. I used to be a real people pleaser but I'm more assertive now. I'm not a tank but I do realise that I am a pushover a lot and I've stood up or myself more, especially in my relationship.
You could be Mark f***ing Zuckerbeg and they'd still tell her you're not good enough.
Don't listen to the faux-tough guy approach espoused here. This is Korea, pushing through some nonsense tough guy bollocks will get you nowhere. I would know as I am a lady. You can't win them over because of the language barrier, that is why actions speak louder. I am a woman hear me roar. For those with more experience, what they said is not the end.
