As a current, non-contract teacher, I won't be getting paid at all during this time
Schools have closed down in my city for the rest of the month. As a current, non-contract teacher, I won't be getting paid at all during this time Hooray AmericaHas school resumed in Korea? Or are they still putting it off?
Not open yet, planned for 23rd March, but I just can't see that happening.
Probably won't. They are considering adding another week or two to the closure. An official announcement is expected tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.https://www.yna.co.kr/view/AKR20200316065800004
April 15th is Election Day.The reigning gov't doesn't want any ammo against them. In the Twitterverse (KakaoGalaxy), it makes perfect sense to play it safe and begin classes in early April.
Non-contract? You're a substitute teacher?
There's a nosy adjusshi who's recently made the laundromat that opened up near my home some months ago into his personal clubhouse away from home. He's not an employee, and he purposely waits for when he knows the employees won't be there before showing up. When he's there, he stays for 8-10 hour stretches, just watching TV and falling asleep to different programs. He's not an employee, he isn't homeless, and he isn't hardup. It pisses me off so much because I don't feel safe about leaving my laundry to do itself while he's around, and he's always around. I've walked in on him looking through other people's laundry before. I've said something to an actual employee about this dude before, but nothing's been done, so now I'm all like... what now? The guy is just so ****** weird and creepy.Thinking that maybe I should try to get in touch with the actual owner, but... what if this guy *is* the owner incognito, lol? Guess I just need to babysit my clothes every time I go there now.
i use those laundry machines to wash bedding. too big/heavy to put in my apartment front loader
Don't know I've ever seen this situation before, but whenever I have been the situation of using a public laundromat, I definitely would bring a book and wait there the whole time. It wouldn't occur to me leave. OTOH, when I lived in a smallish apartment complex, I definitely went back to the apartment. The trick there is timing your return so some impatient person didn't dump your clothes out of the machine when it finished. That said, every apartment I've had in Korea came with a washing machine. The first Korean laundromat I ever saw was in about 2016. I hope this isn't a trend.
