Overwatch (Game Template)
« on: June 20, 2016, 09:04:06 am »
Here's a game template that I made based on the new game Overwatch! I've used a lot of games posted here in the past, so I wanted to give back. :)

Caveat: Overwatch is a shooter, but I managed to avoid any guns in this particular PPT game. I haven't used it in class yet, just fyi.

Note: This works on PPT 2010 or later. It doesn't play nice with 2007.

This game allows for 23 questions. Fonts are embedded in the PPT, so you shouldn't need to install them on the computer.

Download

Final Version: You need Quicktime. The videos are pretty pixelated, but everything should work smoothly on PPT 2010.

Download link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5WwdTbLeZL-S3piU1RtVWd6d2s

I had a bigger HD version, but it seems to only work on PPT 2013 or later. If anyone wants that version, let me know.

Edit: Minor edit where I deleted a "Choose one" textbox on the Nepal (Mei) slide.
Edit 2: Took down HD version and updated the Final version so some broken videos work again.

Good job, the boys would really like it, not too sure about the girls though.

Great game ...I'm hooked on it atm :P

I hope I put enough interesting slides in there for the kids who don't play too! :) I'm so into this game at the moment (as you can probably tell haha). Thanks for the comment!

I am a mac user but use powerpoint. I don't see a direct link for a ppt file though.

thanks in advance

Just click through one of the Google Drive links in the first post. You can download it from there. ^^ The file is big, so I didn't upload it to waygook.

I used this with my Grade 6 Elementary school today, and they were very excited when they seen the title.

The game was good and well presented. Needs some music effects though I feel, which I might try if I have time someday.

The videos wouldn't work for me either, but probably because I'm using PPT2010 and don't have QuickTime (which I tried to download but it was blocked for some reason).

The art and design of the game is top notch though, and the kids enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there,

Thanks so much for this game my middle school class loved it! I found this sound track for the overwatch game on YouTube and played it in the background of the quiz which worked well.

Thanks again - This quiz made going to the Bank enjoyable

You're amazing, this is amazing, my kids loved it.
One team saw they had to lose 4 points and I have never seen them so animated lol
Another team got to chose who they stole 10 points from....They were gods for 5 minutes.

Thank you

I'm glad it's working for your classes! I want to make a new template soon. :) I like the idea of playing music in the background; I didn't put it in because music sometimes gets too distracting. Thanks again for commenting!

I'd love to use this, but I think my school has downloads from Google Drive blocked. Any chance someone would be kind enough to upload here or elsewhere? I (and my students!) would really appreciate it~

I touched it up a bit. I added some sound effects and changed the focus to the game's Ultimate attacks. Hope you don't mind.

Sorry for being a thread necromancer (although this is a great game template and the game is still very popular)
But where did you get image and icon files? My google-fu is letting me down and I want to add some stuff in a similar style.
