South Korea: the place with the most hard working and well behaved students.

Checking my 1st grade students' evaluation essays and there were two noteworthy sentences.  One student was talking about her favorite music, and they mentioned that 'This sound is dope'.  :-*  Would love to give them full marks just for that.  At the other end, was a student talking about their favourite drama and how the main character is an 'asshole'.  :undecided:

"We have not heard much about this index because, you know, people in their right minds know they shouldn't waste their time mixing control and discipline with education."

Haven't you got some pictures of birds to be jacking off to, son?

Crap season from Arsenal, but still finish it by winning the FA Cup

Oh, the pain and joy of being an Arsenal fan.   :-*

My school still have an English festival planned but we can't have the booths and performances like last year.  So, keeping in mnid that classes shouldn't mix, I thought that each class can make a five-minute video based on a pop song/tv program/movie/drama/youtuber parody etc up until next Wednesday.  There is also an art poster contest for my quieter, gifted students titled 'My Happiness'.  Then we collect the videos and show them live a tv channel.  So next thursday, in the broadcasting room, I will do live announcing between videos, also with a book reading quiz (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and another fun quiz, while the students watch all the other classes videos with their classmates on the tv in their classrooms.  I also made some adverts myself with my trusted VSDC to show in between videos too.  I thought after this year so far, it's nice to have something fun they can do together.  Really nice seeing my students coming up with inventive video ideas.

I got a “just checking in” email from a boy who was a 5th grade student of mine during my last year of teaching, which was two years ago now. Warms the cockles  :azn:

Suppose Karma came around for me with that schedule bullshit cuz I just landed HOT tickets/great tickets for Tenet, opening morning in IMAX.

The first thing to say is that this is definitely not pyramid selling, OK?

Thanks!

I'm more worried about Deakins taking off. Greig Fraser is not someone I'm terribly familiar with. I might have to find Lion and watch it to see his camera skills. Although he shot Killing Them Softly, which is just a GORGEOUS movie. I didn't love it but I was always impressed with the cinematography.

Hold on, Andrew Dominik used Deakins for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (If you love photography, watch this, easily one of the most beautiful movies ever shot. Deakins was nommed for this AND No Country for Cine Oscar IN THE SAME YEAR) and then Deakins left and he used Greig Fraser on Killing Them Softly.

Villeneuve used Deakins on BR2049 and he left and Villeneuve is using Fraser now.

Maybe I am a bit excited. hahahahaha

Finally bit the bullet and got two Note 20 Ultras for the wife and I. I've been against the idea of buying the latest, most high-end gadgets. It's like buying a brand new Ferrari when there are soo many other, cheaper options out there. But whatever, I saved enough to be able to afford such extravagancy. Just for reference, I'm replacing a Note 3 and the wife a Note 4.

That's a very significant upgrade. I feel like using a Note 3 and a Note 4 would've been incredibly frustrating in 2020.

Congratulations! How do you like it? My husband desperately needs a new phone...he upgraded from a Galaxy S5 or something old to a newer Galaxy Wide 4...3 days later in the middle of last year's typhoon season he dropped it in knee high water on his way to work at 3am and called me from work at 4am to go look for it but it was too dangerous so I just went back to sleep ....we did find it further down the street the next day but as expected it was toast.....so he started using his brother's old phone I think and it's slow with very limited storage space

i've been against wireless earbuds for the longest time, for some reason. but i did some research and bought some galaxy buds plus. anyone have these? i was also looking at the new galaxy beans but didn't quite seem as good (even though they look cooler and have a more compact case)
