Anyone in Daegu got any neat tips for me? haha

They apparently opened a new Cinnabon in the Shinsegae Department Store. There's one in the Hyundai Department Store, too, but if you're coming into Dongdaegu, it's a convenient hop.

Sorry, not really a neat tip, but I was excited about it when I heard about it.

This is so wholesome and cute. hahahaha

Going to Daegu tomorrow for the second time. I like Daegu.

Gonna get dat 다도막창.

Anyone in Daegu got any neat tips for me? haha
Now that you're probably on the way home again:

Apsan is cool if you like gondola rides.
Herb Hillz is nifty if you like high altitude rope courses and ziplines.
There's the "largest firing range in East Asia" is north Daegu that does skeet shooting, firing gallery, and has something called "laser archery" which I'm hoping is some kinda futuristic bow that shoots lasers that explode distant targets, but which is probably something lame-o like laser tag.
Palgongsan is a nice climb that features a big stone Buddha balancing a giant rock on his head. The Shinsegae has an aquarium on the top floor, as well as a virtual reality roller coaster that I've probably done too many times.
Also, ETOHs has some of the best pizza I've had in Korea (I'd recommend the messerroni). They have a fair menu of craft beers too.
Stay away from Thursday Party. Total meat-market. Not at all your style.

After lunch, the Kor teachers had to go do some training, while the students done something similar, but away from the teachers.
The office guy comes into the office, and I can't remember how, but the topic of music came up. Turns out, he used to listen to old school English rock / metal music in his 20s (things like Metallica, Bon Jovi, G'N'R, etc.) And I introduced him to Iron Maiden, my all time favourite band. He just came back, and said he really likes them, and went back to the office, playing their music from his phone! :D

speaking tests all this week for my level 1 and level 2 students.  one of my new level 1 students lived for 6 years in Australia, so when she was talking about what she does at the weekend, part of her answer was something like 'ah, usually I like to sit on the couch in my pyjamas at home and eat popcorn watching a film'.  but she said it all with her Aussie accent, so when she said 'home' it was brilliant.

Over the weekend I ran into a smallish specialty/organic store to buy some eggs. They were actually right in front of the register which i thought was kinda weird but the carton i grabbed was cold so i figured it was being refrigerated somehow; anyway I paid for it and left.

this morning i went to make some eggs for breakfast and upon cracking it there was no usual "splash in the pan".
I looked at it to realize that i had bought baked eggs "구운 계란" by accident!!.....lololol i totally just assumed they were the normal ol' eggs freshly pooped out of a chicken.  hahahaha

btw they aren't that good tbh but it's pretty dang conveniet. it's super duper easy to peel, shove into eating orface, and run out the door!

I feel like only in korea would this happen, but in a good way . ^^

To close up my first month teaching in Korea:
I had a horrid time last week but it's all been coming up roses since. I am so lucky with my coteachers, my apartment, and my general placement. There's a few troublemaking kids, but it's only going to get better. I can't wait to see what this year brings. So far... I can see renewal in the future :)

Food porn pleases me. Unless it's gross.

I really miss the pecan cinnamon rolls. I need to make it out to Daegu sometime.

;D I'd read that thread first and then came to the happy thread. I'm not even going to check that one anymore I don't think. What is it the kids say? Good vibes only?

Nah, that's a lie. When I'm bored it's super fun to read people's rants. ;D

Nobody told me about the science festival, so I have no class today. Time for free time :azn:

Last night was the first time in almost a year where I not only managed to get a full night's sleep, but I also didn't spend ages falling asleep AND I didn't wake up not once in the night to spend another couple of ages falling back asleep. AND, my allergies have been kept in check with prescription meds for the past couple of weeks, so I didn't have any of that taking the piss out of my sleep, either.

I've forgotten what it feels like to be this fully rested. Is this what it's like to be a kid again?
