My school just had a little music concert (all 45 students) and my god there is nothing cuter than kindergarteners in matching outfits doing weird choreography! Serious cuteness overload. Today will be great!  :azn: :azn: :azn:

kyndo didn't like my joke

No, it's jsut that I'm not especially clever, and it took me a moment to get it (I live by the axiom of "those who laugh last laugh longest").

I ran it past the teacher sitting next to me, and she rolled her eyes so hard that I thought she was having a grand mal seizure... meaning that I give it two thumbs up, of course!  ;D

As payment/punishment, let me inflict a few of my favourite konglish jokes on you!

What is a vampire's favourite drink? ... ... 코 피!!
What do you get when you mix a cow, a bird, and a mouse together? ... ... 소새쥐!!!
What did the little fish say while being eaten by a big fish?... ... ... 오,뎅!!!
What country has four arms?... ... 넷팔!!
What do you get when you have a pen and an apple? ... ... detention for everybody!  >:(

^LOL. That's fabulous. I need to use that on my kids

My main coT is staying another year! Sucks for her that she can't work in her town of residence (no positions available) but at least one of my coTs will be good next year!

hahaha, the only ones of those I  haven't heard are the yugioh and cow/gold ones.

I do really like the vampire/coffee joke too though!

I also really like:

What do you call a cute boy with no ears? 귀없다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ (one of my coteachers says 귀없군 is better though)

Where do grandpas go to find love? E-할머니 (my kids don't get this though because they don't know about e-harmony)

What do you call a motorcycle you can't ride? 못타사이클

What did the cookie say when it wanted to leave? 과자!

I was mentally lamenting how I'm not a good fit for elementary school and a student came up to me and stuffed a handful of chocolates into my coat pocket

Yeah the kids are so cute about that.  They always make sure I get a piece when there's candy somewhere.  Of course, they also try to trick me sometimes by giving me sour warheads type candy and claiming it's "very sweet and delicious teacher!".  Too bad their muffled laughter gives them away!

These last two weeks have been really rough (awful students, Golden Bell, new coteacher, I've been sick, frustration with trying to buy things online, my grandma dying), but my school is so supportive and I'm really grateful for everyone here. They let me take two days off when my grandma died, which was great because I didn't feel like faking a smile and needed the time to work on her funeral slideshow. Everybody here is just so nice and their support helps me so much.

Tomorrow I'm just going to relax and crochet and search for a flight home for winter break. Hopefully next week things will start to look up.

coteacher gave me a clear answer on the winter camp plans!

(as before, she wrote up the plan, first period I do something "cultural", second period she does reading, third period is watching a movie. I told her I was sort of out of ideas for cultural things and got "do something thematically similar to the movie of the week" approved too)

Bought my plane ticket home for winter vacation! I hemmed and hawed over whether I should or not, but the thought of cuddling my kitty, American food, and family was just too irresistible. And I found a flight for only $1,000, and that's about $200 less than I have always paid in the past. Just 38 days to go and I'll be baking in my warm home!

Asked the art teacher about borrowing some paintbrushes for camp-- he showed me and my coT the supplies in the art room and said, "Yirj, everything yours."

Could someone explain this one?

Q: Why couldn’t the ice cream cones cross the road?

A: 차가와서!

What is the English word expressed by 차가와서?
