How do you remove crayon of the tables????
« on: April 25, 2011, 04:06:57 pm »
HELP!! Half of my tables have crayon all over them. I thought a simple water and cloth job would do to remove it.. But no!!! Nothing comes off... Any ideas what I can use to remove the crayon stains???

Not an expert on crayon-- but have you tried rubbing alchoal? It works on permenant markers! So do magic erasers--which your school should theoritically have.

Mostly you need something that dissolves wax...um *cough* don't tell anyone you tried it. But a piece of cloth (one you are willing to kill forever) and an iron on low should do the trick.

But really-try the other things first!!

I use oven cleaner.  It removes name pen, sign pen, and crayon marks.

I use what I got around me. Which is basically those sanitation wipes and elbow grease. It does the trick.

Have the student figure it out... they did it... that's what my KT do whenever there's a mess made by the students.

I don't even know if you can buy it here, but Crest toothpaste has proven to be very effective in getting out stains and stuff. I've used it to get blood stains, red pen, ink, grease and stuff out of clothes. Lord knows what it does to one's teeth!

I second Namhae Newbie's suggestion of toothpaste. My former co-teacher used it to clean desks with pencil and crayon scrawlings. And afterwards, your room has a nice, minty smell to it!

Also, there's this great site to help with things just like this. It's really underground and indie so I bet you haven't heard of it, but it's called google and the answers are INSTANT. You should really check it out.

Have you tried WD40 or bleach? I hear that it works wonders to remove stains and sticky stuff. I use these two things on everything.

Magic sponge! You just wet it and it takes off ANYTHING!
Ask the Korean teachers about it - I found mine in one of those random shops that have everything. (I call them dollar shops)  It's just plain white, and magic!

Yes! They work for anything. You can buy them at E-mart. We got like 24 of them for 8000won.

Rubbing alcohol works wonders. I don't clean my tables, because a teacher makes 3 students clean it everyday. I have not tried it myself, but it works well for my students  :P
