Can you get a tourist visa before D10/E2 visa expires??
« on: February 27, 2016, 01:23:12 pm »
I went to Japan and came back a month before my D10 visa expires. I have family coming after month after so I need an extra month before I want to leave Korea.

Does traveling to another country gives me 3 more months when I was on my D10 visa? Or do I have to travel after it expires?

Call immigration and ask if you can get an extension to your D10.

I assume not, but let us know what they tell you.

Travelling to another country doesn't extend your D10. If you'd cancelled your D10 when you left, then you'd have returned on a tourist visa valid for 90 days (depending on where you're from). If you want to extend your visa outside the time of your D10 contact immigration - they may allow you to extend the D10 if you say you're still looking for work.
