Returning Teachers Visa Process
« on: February 19, 2016, 12:41:23 pm »
Hi everyone,

My contract will be finished on April 20th, 2016 and I will be leaving Korea April 21st, 2016 for 2-3 months. I plan on coming back to teach in July, and was seeing if I am going to have to restart the whole visa process (getting a background check, apostille transcripts and diplomas) hoping that I can receive an E2 back in the United States.

I've read about the D10 "Looking for work" visa, but I will not be able to obtain one because I will be leaving the day after my contract is finished. Also, I've heard about Visa runs to Japan, but I would prefer to have an E2 before arriving to Korea.

If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear and your input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

It is as you say.

If I were you I'd change your flight date to give you time to apply for a D10.

Definitely worth it because getting all new docs is a massive inconvenience.

Go get your prints on April 22. Use a service for the FBI CRC. You should have documents in plenty of time. Your CRC in Korea should also be good if you are out of Korea for less than 3 months but I would get a back up anyway.
