This upcoming week between vacations.
« on: January 20, 2016, 10:17:01 am »
I'm finishing up the first year now and haven't experienced this random week of classes between vacation blocks before.

1). What typically happens here?
2). Should I just plan for business as usual?

i also have worksheets prepared for the 6th grade, if they can't play the games properly

Following this thread. I have no clue what I'm going to do either.

I do nothing. I plan nothing. I don't care. Let them eat cake.

I think my co-teacher just wants us to play games. I am at a loss right now too... the 6st graders aren't going to want to do anything before graduation.

I plan nothing.  We watch television shows the entire week, if we even have class.  So many times I would be told I have class only for it to be canceled.  No worries here.  Play games or watch movies.  Basically do whatever you want, that is what the other Korean teachers do.

For me the first week of February is back to school and that Friday is graduation.  Ugh I hope not to see this damn crop of 6th graders at all but something tells me they are going to make me teach that week.  ugh I hate 4 of the 6th graders I have.  Yeah one more more week of f***ing eye rolling and stone walling.  I'm on full you don't exist to me if that happens.  I'm actually looking forward to my new 6th grade.  They've gained my respect this winter camp so far and I want to let them know on the last day that they have done a great job at being respectful.  I'm not sure what I should do.  I'm thinking pizza party but ummmm.  Any other ideas?

I never reward classes that can't show respect etc. I go so far as to reward with a movie or some computer gaming classes that do, and then make the classes that don't actually work.

When they complain I tell them:-

Well, 6.1 class did their work, didn't complain, and so they did more work than you. We are just catching up on the thing you didn't do because you where misbehaving.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I'll plan some lessons just in case, either way I can use them in March if there are no actual constructive classes happening.
