I'm on the last Harry Potter audiobook. Great stuff.
Never done an audiobook, but yes they are.

Harry Potter is excellent in audiobook form! The battle scenes especially! There are two versions though. Europe got Stephen Fry and America got Jim Dale. I want to listen to the Stephen Fry version in the future.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is also on my listening list  ;D

Oh, I think I would like Stephen Fry's version, haha. But I'm not familiar with Jim Dale, so that guy could be good too.

This may be controversial, but I read Hitchhiker's Guide and I wasn't that impressed by it.

Just finished Stephen King's 'under the Dome', great book, i wasn't keen on the ending. Now reading "Ready player one', so far superb!
Ready Player One is on my list!

I read Ready Player One over the weekend. It lays the nostalgia on a bit thick, but otherwise, pretty good.

Right now reading Brian Catling's "The Vorrh". Weirdness. Good weirdness.

Did you ever read Geek Love? That's another weird one.

I've gone through all of Pynchon's work in the past year or so and am now on the last one on the list: Against the Day.

Do comics count? Started on Avengers vs Pet Avengers last night. Moving on to Spider-Ham (starring Peter Porker) tonight most likely.

finished the last Dark Tower after taking a break from the series for a few years. Wizard and Glass was painful. It's a cool story overstuffed and with too much cheese.

I finished these up awhile ago. I liked them a lot. Great series but like everything else King does the endings suck. Great stories, endings... not so much.

There's a movie (or maybe TV series) in the works atm too.

-----------------------

I just finished up whats available of The Expanse by James Corey. Excellent set of books if you're into scifi.

Man's search for meaning by Viktor E. Frankl, Subtle art of not giving a F#$% by Mark Manson.

Both Highly recommended : )

Happy reading

I gave up on both The Dark Tower and The Expanse series. The former suffers from a terrible finale (the last three books even) and the latter suffers from it-became-popular-so-it's-never-going-to-end-itosis a la GRRM.

The Expanse isn't finished yet though, so it has a chance to get back on track. That first book was pretty great.

Go Set A Watchman - Harper Lee

It's great to revisit the world of To Kill A Mocking Bird even if it doesn't grab me quite like her first book.

It's Ironic that the "Expanse" series is following the same pattern as the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series, considering that the former is written by the editor and assistant of the latter.   :lipsrsealed:

yeah and with Idris Elba as the gunslinger! Man, if they do this right...
Just started the Natural today. You may remember me as that book you didn't want to read in high school or that movie I became, starring Robert Redford.

the song of susannah isn't great. in fact, i didn't really like it. but the final few pages of the dark tower(book 7) - especially the twist at the end - were great, i thought. i'd say the series overall was king's 'flawed masterpiece'. there's a lot i didn't like (won't go into it here and ruin it for future readers) but there was much more i did like, and the good heavily outweighs the bad. king repeatedly said he didn't know where he was going with the books or how it would end, so you can understand why some of it feels 'disjointed'

but i really liked the ending!

edit: never heard of the expanse. might give it a go next!

I just finished No Shred of Evidence by Charles Todd.  It's from a series about a Scotland Yard detective who is recovering from the trauma of WWI.

Next up is Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson & David Oliver Relin.
