Tucker Max.  I hope They Serve Beer in Hell and also Assholes Finish First.  You'll either love it or hate it.

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua. It is about the differences in how chinese parents raise their kids verses western parents. Very interesting read so far.
I buy most of my books from whatthebook.com a bookshop in Itaewon. They ship to you for free if you make a purchase over 20,000won.

Is mentioning What the Book every three posts as if it's new information a running gag?  If so it's brilliantly done.

A Storm of Swords, Book 3 of A Song of Ice and Fire (recently turned into an HBO Series called "A Game of Thrones". Check it out!!)

This comes just after finishing Memoirs of a Geisha, which was really good. Next up: American Gods by Neil Gaiman!

"Lacuna" by Barbara Kingsolver... still. And I have been for the last month  :-[ I only read on the weekends when I'm traveling on the bus/train, so its being read piecemeal.

I have to be careful because I check my books out from the library and if I don't finish in a timely way they "expire" and my Nook can't open them.

An interesting book in comic form called Korea Unmasked which take s a view of Korea by a famous Korean professor.  Very intersting perspective on Korean personality and culutre.

Read that during winter deskwarming.  It's one of a handful of English books in my tiny school's library.  Interesting indeed!

There Are No Shortcuts
and Teach Like Your Hair's On Fire by Rafe Esquith.  Both were excellent!

Also, Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox.  Now I need to see the movie  :)

I downloaded 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and am listening to it on my I-pod:)

I have found it difficult to find english books here, but, I did manage to buy 'The Architecture of happiness' by Alain de Botton, which is awesome;)

I'm working my way through all of Murakami's works. Right now I'm reading Kafka on the Shore.

Is anyone on http://www.goodreads.com/ ? It's my crack these days and it's also convinced me that I need to invest in a kindle.

it's also convinced me that I need to invest in a kindle.

I can't recommend buying enough. I actually just ordered my second one (first one got a little too much rough love) and it should be here on Wednesday or Thursday. Speaking from experience, buy a case that will protect it!! Fwiw, I paid $240 to have it delivered to Korea with a very nice leather case. They'll also have a new option available soon where you can get a Kindle for $115. The price difference is because they have advertisements as screensavers instead of authors and book designs. Take the plunge, best purchase you'll ever make!!!

Robert Jordan  .... George RR Martin ..... It's so hard trying to pace myself  because the last books in both series are still  "works-in-progress".
I'll probably have to re- read the last books to refresh.
Also, the freebies in Kobo.
