A thread for pointless Friday ramblings.

I got my mandatory COVID test taken care of to ensure I'll be able to board my flight to the US this Thursday.  I was getting a bit paranoid that maybe I had it but was asymptomatic and would have to delay my flight and find somewhere to stay for 14 more days, so I'm pretty relieved to have gotten that negative result.

If anyone's looking to do the same thing and is curious about the cost: the test itself (RT-PCR, in this case) was 98k KRW, and the official stamped paper stating in English that you tested negative and are safe to travel was an additional 20k KRW.
In my case the results were ready the day after the test, though it's good to allow for two days just in case.

Another "if anyone's curios" tidbit: The test results they'll accept are either an antigen test, or an NAAT test such as RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, or TMA.

Now to find a way to keep the anxiety about all the other things that might go wrong before Thursday at bay ...

Out of curiosity what would the school have done regarding reimbursing airfare if you did have it and had to quarantine before you left?  If you quarantine for two weeks you've gone beyond the ten day limit to go back to your home country.  That would be an additional kick in the pants.

I don't know what they're doing about flight reimbursement even with leaving on time, haha. I imagine they just have a set amount of money they'd include in my final paycheck  that covers all the end-of-contract stuff, or perhaps it'd be included with the severance payment I get after I leave.

I hope I don't get shafted out of anything, but flight reimbursement isn't TOO big a deal on top of 9 years worth of pension & severance.  I probably wouldn't even notice if they didn't give it to me, haha.

Between Thursday and Monday I lost another 0.6KG
Had to go to the hospital where they weighed me on Monday, which showed a little more weight was lost.

I also took off some wallpaper in one of the rooms in my apartment, and the mold was REALLY bad. The smell alone has stopped me from scrubbing it down, but I've been spraying it with mold killer (all while wearing a mask). Pretty sure that all my health issues have the mold as the root cause. D:

I think the mostly male members were thinking thoughts along the lines of "No, I've only tried to take one off" or "No, please provide detailed information as this is a story about a bra", but it would be immature or disrespectful to voice those opinions.  I, of course, was only pointing out what those other creeps were thinking so none of this reflects poorly upon me. 

Guys are like cats, they get curious about stuff, and next thing you know they're wearing their gf's or wife's underwear. Surely one or two of you struggled with a sports bra just because you saw it laying there and wondered if you could fit into one.

And I'm not talking about the ones with the clasps. Those are cheating. I'm talking about the thick, barely stretchy for maximum support, slip-over-your-head sports bras. The ones that you've basically got to dislocate a shoulder to put on if you have even a hint of moisture on your back.

Still, I can somewhat relate. Have you tried putting on a wet wetsuit? Particularly the modern high-performance ones for surfing which have minimal seams and very short zips. No need to stretch/warmup before a surf, getting in and out of that is the equivalent of a 20min yoga routine.

I have to say, I don't think that happens nearly as much as you think.  I have never, despite living with two different gfs ever even thought once about trying on their undergarments.  Full disclosure.  Never even occurred to me to try one on on and I don't think I'm abnormal in that regard.

I have come back inside on a number of humid Korean evenings and tried to peel off a t-shirt that I'm sure is going to tear leaving a section attached to my back, though.

There are plenty of things guys don't understand about women and it definitely goes the other way around.

To fill in the gaps, I lot of what we assume about the opposite sex comes from Hollywood, particularly crappy 90s Romcoms:

- Men don't sit around talking about boobs
- Men, particularly when they're good friends, aren't trying to act macho or tough.

If a guy is curious about what a bra or a pair of panties will feel like, he's a bit on the fay side.

Yeah, I think this is more a case of this being one of those things women think happens a lot more than it does because of mass media or just affirmation by a few friends or a unreliable sample size.

I don't know how this could be measured honestly  but I think we'd have to start with transvestite numbers and what % of fetish related searches deal with this. Given what we see of porn and fetish distribution its likely that the numbers for this are in the 10%ish range.
