Man. There are few things more irritating than the 'Omg someone's smoking and I can smell it!' threads that pop up every week or two here.I hate the smell of second-hand smoke just as much as anyone else. That doesn't mean that it's literally the end of the world. Like, yeah, it sucks, and that's lame, and nobody likes having unpleasant smells coming into their apartment. But you don't have to go on a novel-sized rant about how awful people are here for smoking, or how this is some lawless country where nobody has any consideration for others, etc.. etc..And then you get the people who are like, "Smokers are literally second-class humans," and then the people on the polar opposite who are all, "Mate, don't be such a bloody baby, mate."And suddenly instead of acting like decently socialized humans, everyone is just being a tool. UGH.There's some pointless Friday ranting for you.

The fines for smoking in areas they shouldn't isn't even enforced by the police. Nowt to do with them. It is the city halls who are responsible for it.
I had the upper part of my ear (helix) pierced back in high school. I promptly tore out the ring (got it caught on a tree branch) a few months later while horseback riding . That kinda turned me off of piercings. On myself, at least. I've done a lot of home piercings on other people since then. Recently I learned that messing up an eyebrow piercing can cause permanent nerve damage that can paralyse the brow... but guess I've been lucky because insofar as I know, they can still do this:
I got 2 ear piercings last week and they seem to be healing properly. The lobe one doesn't hurt at all even if I poke at it and the upper ear one only feels slightly tender if I prod at it. Hurrah! Not even any swelling! Getting ear piercings here are super cheap. Like, suspiciously so. I'm basically just paying for the earring. But the proper tools and disinfectant are used so I'm not complaining, just amazed at the low cost.
Has it taken me nearly 5 years to realise you are a woman?
Have a nice weekend, guys and girls.
Which brings me onto why when I fly back to Europe, older Korean women never lock the door to the toilet on the plane. I open the door, only to see a crouching Korean woman, shout and then close the door again. One of my co-teachers reckoned they liked it, that's why they do it.
