If anyone wants to use this I have always had a blast with it for the first 5-10 minutes of class. I build up the suspense and urgency by offering a prize to the team that gets the most words, telling them it's very difficult, etc.
I give them the word search on their desk face down, set it up as stated above, and then say go!
