Is the Gepik "exit allowance" taxed?
« on: March 04, 2015, 11:54:23 am »
Anyone know if the exit allowance of 1,500,000 won is taxed or if we get the full amount? I had planned to leave at the end of my contract last week and had actually booked and paid for my flight. The school transferred the money to my account. However, I accepted a job at the last moment and cancelled my flight. I transferred the flight money back to my school. I sent the full 1.5, but now I'm wondering if I sent too much. If it was taxed they would have deposited a fair bit less than the full amount. Yet I've transferred the full amount back to their account.

Maybe now they owe me money. Hmmmm!

Should have been taxed but you wouldn't really know unless you checked your bank statements. Admin offices don't always know what they're doing when dealing with our paperwork. You'll probably need a bank statement in the case you did over pay anyway.

You could always ask them.
