Haircut in Daegu
« on: April 13, 2011, 09:34:51 am »
Alright, here's the deal...I'm a dude, usually wear my hair fairly short, somewhat layered as it's super thick.
Since getting here, been a bit hesitant to go get a haircut, now, it's past due.

Where in Daegu can I get a nice haircut (preferably for under 30,000)

Cheers and thanks.

I go to White Hair in downtown. I know there are a lot of branches around there but the one I go to is in front of a New Balance store. There is a guy that knows how to speak some pretty decent English. I think hes the only guy there.

forgot to say that the last time I went there, it was mid March and he said that he will be gone the next time i'll get a haircut because he is setting up his own salon somewhere but he did give me his cell so I can visit him there next time. A haircut alone there costs 12,000 won.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

Any other places anyone?  Or has anyone else used White Hair?

Cheers.

There's an Australian guy called Roberto Frigo, and he's in the Bennigans/Burger King building by the stage. He's great, but he's only here till the 21st of May and he only works on Saturdays. He's good though, his number is 010 2351 0055.

If he doesn't work, I also go to a place called Point, which is in the same street as Thursday Party. They're great, super friendly, and the one guy speaks pretty good English and is super super detailed.

Wherever you go, just take a picture of what you want it to look like.

Yes, a picture is a good idea for Point, but Frigo is English so that's not an issue.

Did Roberto (Frigo) return? he's been gone for the past 5-6 months due to family issues. I use to love going to him. He has 17? years of experience and charges 30k.

For the past 5-6 months i've been going to Serrano's near the 2.2.8 park. Ji Won speaks really good english and she only charges 15k. She is also REALLY good (as long as she doesn't try to do 3-4 haircuts simultaneously). A lot of the Epik people use her.

Thanks again everyone.
Do you have to call ahead to Serrano's or can you just walk in?  What are their hours?

Cheers.

There's another place near 2.28 park called Kingston.  I got my hair cut there and it was 15k.  The guy who cut my hair didn't speak much English but I had a picture and a translator app and it worked out just fine.  The hair salon is on the side of the park farthest from Junungno station (on the red line - sorry for the horrid spelling).  I heard there is a girl there who does speak English though so you might be in luck.

Unfortunately Frigo's has closed down - there were for sale signs on the building a few weeks ago. I went there all the time last year, was great, if a little expensive for Korea.

I went to Serrano's recently and saw Ji Won - I WOULD NOT recommend it.She gave me a hideous far too short hair cut and a fringe (maybe 3 inches off) when I asked for a tiny trim.... My friend also went there and got the same 3 inch massacre...

Thank you again for all the reponses.

Just one question.
Where abouts is Talent located?  Near what metro stop, buildings, etc.
