Visa help
« on: November 19, 2014, 08:55:51 am »
I'm coming up on the end of my contract and in looking around for a new one was offered a job to start a month later than when mine ends. I was told that I could just go home for that month and then come back.

Which sounds all fine and dandy, but what about the visa process? I'm contemplating what would be the easiest/best thing to do.

-Turn my current ARC card in, collect my retirement monies, stash them in a 1 year cd or something back home, come back in to Korea and get a new ARC?
-See if I can extend my current ARC until I can put the new job on it and just collect all the monies at the end? Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you should be able to do that by doing your immigration transfer paperwork before taking your month off. I would call the immigration hotiline at 1345 and ask them what the current process is.

After you talk to them, please feel free to post that information here, as I'm sure many others are interested in how that's done.

I was kinda of asking what people think would be the best course of action.
