Hong Kong for Visa Run (need updated info)
« on: November 03, 2014, 08:24:35 pm »
I'm planning to go to Hong Kong for a visa run. Does anyone have *current* info on how many days does it take for one to get their visa?

for hong kong you don't need a visa! Well what nationality are you? I know for sure americans and brits don't. Hong Kong is different from the rest of china since it used to be under british rule. http://hongkong.usconsulate.gov/acs_hkvisa.html

Perhaps I am wrong but by 'their' I think they are referring to the visa for Korea and not for Hong Kong. Perhaps the OP could clarify.

In Hong Kong it takes 5 working days to process your visa - I know as I was planning on getting mine processed there before I left in July! (sadly the paperwork arrived too late and I had to do it in London instead). When I spoke to them they said if it was submitted Monday, it would be ready for me the following Monday!

As that means you'll be there for a week, feel free to fire me a message and I can give you any info about Hong Kong you want/need :)

When I went last year for a visa I told them my plane was leaving the next day, so it was out in 24 hours.  few days back a friend of a friend went there on Wednesday and she was back with it by Sunday.

To clarify, I meant going to Hong Kong's Korean Consulate to get an E2 visa to work in Korea.

I'm talking about an E2 visa if need it the next day that can be arranged when you explain to them. Yes i know they say 5 days but you can still get it in less than 5days.
