What is your best NBA starting five of all time?   Here is mine.

Centre:            Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Power Forward:         Tim Duncan
Forward:            Scottie Pippen
Shooting Guard:         Michael Jordan
Point Guard:         Oscar Robertson

Bill Russell and Larry Bird could quite easily have been in the top five.

This is so hard to do.

C: Shaq
PF: Duncan
SF: Bird
SG: Jordan
PG: Johnson

I think that would be my traditional lineup.

Non traditional:

C: Shaq (Or The Dream. Hard to not pick him)
PF: Duncan (esily could be Malone)
SF: James (Bird and Pippen is way underrated due to Jordan)
SG: Bryant
PF: Jordan

I'd rather have MJ distributing than Kobe.

Gasol over Duncan? Just due to him playing on the Lakers?

I picked Scottie Pippen because he had great defence and offence.   Also a very good team player.   Pippen, Jordan and Rodman were great defensively.   Ron Harper was also very good.  He ended up with 5 championship rings I think.  (3 Chicago, 2 L.A.)

My alt 5 was just a joke man.

1: Magic (unconventional)/ Nash (conventional)
2: Jordan
3: Bron Bron
4: Fundamental
5: Kazaam

Who is "fundamental"?

Timmy, but you should know that.

Bron Bron's defence is underrated. Bryant's is overrated.

I think Kobe, Iverson, and Melo are the most overrated players of my time.

Fixed that for you. No way Kobe and Iverson are overrated. Iverson got the Sixers to the finals alone.

lol.

Finals? We talkin' 'bout finals? Not a ring. We talkin' 'bout finals. You know how silly that is?

Kobe/Iverson/Melo all lack efficiency, which Bron Bron has in spades. PPG do not matter if you're also building a house.

Now I will lol. Lebron had bosh and wade and only won 2/4. And you want to talk about efficiency?

And again Iverson got there as a one man show pretty much. Kobe is more clutch than Lebron as well.

You talk about supporting cast, but fail to mention the best centre the game has ever seen.

Lebron had a bunch of scrubs in Cleveland.

Last time I checked Wade's skills were significantly diminished in the later years of the big three in Miami. Chris Bosh? Trust me. I watched Chris Bosh without help with the Raptors for years. Chris Bosh is solid, but definitely not at superstar level.

It's hard not to be thought of as clutch when the ball is always in your hands.

I was referring to player efficiency. My favourite stat is efficiency rating.

Since when is 2/4 (I won't mention finals appearances) rings thought as a poor performance?

Wade and Bron Bron belong in the hall. Bosh does not.

You mean Gasol? Oh right Shaq. But he wasn't there for every ring.

Wade was diminished? Sure, but you like to use efficiency ratings. Wade is number 8 all time in PER. So even diminished he is still better than majority of the league.

Kobe is 20 all time and Iverson at 48 in per. Yet they are overrated? Sorry, Iverson avg 35.6 ppg in the finals against the Lakers with the "best center ever" and Kobe and a solid cast. How is that overrated? He was a one man show. Put him on the Lakers or Miami or something like that and they easily win the finals.

Bosh has career avg of 19.2 ppg and 8.7 rpg. That is pretty super star level imo. Also 54 all time in PER. I can't find the article now but Bosh was top 3 in the league in like clutch shots last year. I think it was 3 point baskets to tie or lead with under 2 or 4 mins renaming in a game. That is pretty superstar as well.

4. The Big Fundamental
5. The Dream

Is this hypothetically, build your own team speaking or is the question asking for the best starting five of all time?

The best starting five:
1. Utah Jazz during the Malone, Stockton, Hornacek years.
2. San Antonio Spurs currently. (Their ball playing is so fundamental and sturdy it makes me cry when I see them play.)
Articles of Confederation, the supreme law of the land.
