Anti Telemarketing / Do Not Call List
« on: May 20, 2014, 02:58:36 pm »
Hello, this is my first time posting on waygook but I've appreciated all the ideas and materials from this site.  I've been with KT Olleh for over a year now, and since I got my contract my phone has been hounded by daily spam messages and telemarketing calls at all hours of the day and night.  I get about one telemarketing call or spam message every other day.

I've gone into talk to Olleh about the issue, and they basically told me there was nothing that I could do.  One of the representatives suggested I individually block each telemarketing number on my iphone 5 after I got the calls.  I've been doing that for about three months now, but today I recalled Do Not Call lists set up by the government back home in Canada.

After a bit of google I came across this article:
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/biz/2013/12/123_148866.html

leading to this site:

https://www.donotcall.go.kr
which i managed to navigate and sign up to using a bit of google translate and guessing.

I don't know how effective it is, but I'm hoping it'll at least reduce the absurd number of calls I get.

I haven't seen many complaints about this problem from others around here, so I'm not sure if I'm just unlucky, but if it helps anyone else I'm glad to share it  :afro:.
