Have you tried calling immigration on 1345?

Regarding the Form 34:

"Fill out the form using the Change of Status (No. 4) Requirements.

-here you'll fill out where you'll living during your D-10 status. Depending on the person you have at immigration, you might need proof of residence. The person whose name is under the residence will need to sign the 34 Form to prove you're living with him/her"

Can somebody please tell me where exactly on the form this person should sign? Thanks!

So, for those who have applied for and gotten a D10 Visa in 2016, what did you need to bring with you and what forms did you fill out?

(I've heard there's a form called finding a job plan?)

Do you need proof of money, place to live, new criminal checks, etc?

Needed Form 34 (basically the application), job searching plan (it was on one of the websites, sorry i can't remember where because it wasn't out in the open), a rental contract, copy of passport photo page, 2 passport photos, and current ARC. Didn't have to provide proof of money (I did the first time I applied in 2015 but I guess it wasn't actually required, just something I read about) or any new documents nor copies of them.

Hi y'all
I'm leaving my current job when my contract is up, going home for a month, then returning to korea to start with a different job...I wanted some opinions on whether it's more cost-effective to apply for D-10 visa or start from scratch with a new E-2(since I will be out of the country for the time I'm out of work)?

Thanks!

Starting from scratch means obtaining a new criminal background check + apostille and degree verification in the month that you are home. Not only cost-effective, but also less stress due to time constraints to just get the D10 visa before you leave.

Does anyone know if http://www.apostillepros.com/ is of any use for getting the FBI CBC completed, and for the apostilles for that and a BA diploma? If it's no good, can anyone recommend another site for the same services? Thank you for any helpful info.

Is it possible to start an online clothing store while teaching in korea? Is it a ban on all jobs or other teaching jobs?

Does anyone know if the length of an E-2 visa can be as little as 3 months and still be legal?

Hey guys a few questions.

1.
I am finishing soon. Can I apply for the D10 and leave the country without it yet? My ARC would expire a month later but I want to start my travel asap. obviously if I don't need to wait  I can buy my ticket right away and plan dates. Without it , it's all up in the air.

2.
I'd like to get a public school gig with a flight paid for. Would I get an incoming flight to Korea paid for or not because I'd be on a D10? Does the D10 mean I'm a temporary resident here and therefore won't be getting a flight paid for.

3.
For that matter if you start a new contract and were on an E2, can you get a flight paid for to bring you back to Korea after a holiday?

any help, very much appreciated!!!!

1. You can only apply for a D10 once your ARC is expired (/within a couple of days - call the specific immigration office you will be visiting and ask because they will give different answers)

2. EPIK doesn't accept D10 visa holders because technically during their orientation period you would be on a "looking for work" visa while working, and this causes them problems. If you applied directly with an office of education, that might be different. The office of education you are employed by will decide if you are eligible for the entrance allowance.

3. Same as above, the employer will have stipulations as to in what circumstances they do and don't pay out an entrance allowance

Thanks for the reply M. Corless!

to be clear my Arc is finishing later on in June, but my contract will be done before that. My friend who I asked after posting said that going when the contract is done would be fine. Main thing is to ask at the office.

Wow, really? That is rough! Is this your experience? Anyone else experienced this?

following up... I wonder if it is also the case that GOE won't accept transfering from a D10 visa and requires all documents to be gathered and handed in again?

any ideas? or for other provinces? (I'm talking about going through a province/ school/ recruiter - i thought i'd be grand on the D10 now i'm wondering if i need to hurry and get my docs)

Thanks for any advice

Hi, I just want to confirm this, so I can only start applying for D10 once my E2 expired? For example, if my E2 expired on August 31, then I can only start applying after Sept 01?

Thanks!

It's once your contract has been finished. I went a few days before my contract finished and they were cool with that. So it'a contract not ARC card date

What if I don't need an E-2? I have an employer waiting to hire me already. I need to go from an E-2 to another E-2. My boss is unlikely to issue an LOR, though. Suggestions?

Where is this form on the hikorea website?

Does anyone know if the length of an E-2 visa can be as little as 3 months and still be legal?

I worked a camp once and they put me on an E2 visa, then cancelled it after 7 weeks at the end of the camp. There was no problem.
Catch my drift?

Can you work another job on an E2 Visa?

I don't mean teaching, like a restaurant job or something?

I don't think so.
