Middle School interview tip
« on: April 01, 2014, 07:49:20 pm »
Any idea or tip on how a middle school in-person interview will be like. What kind of demo lesson will they be looking for. First time trying for middle school and kind of nervous. Thanks

"Are you willing to teach these rude, defiant, borderline-crazy kids that nobody else wants to teach?"
"Yes"
"You're hired."

Show confidence.  You have to be an assertive teacher in middle school and a strong leader or they will eat you alive.

This this this! Yeah, go in humble to the interviewers, but be strong when you talk about students. If you do a sample class, just browse here on waygook in the middle school section, find the textbook stuff, and make your own lesson from it. Make it different enough that they can see that you know how to make your own shizznit, but base it off the textbook stuff, so that way they can see that you know how to use textbooks.

Go get em' tiger!
