The Australian information came from a US satellite owned by private US company DigitalGlobe.  It was Australia who reported the debris because it is located closest to their maritime border.

Do some research next time before starting a troll thread.

Gotta love it...

Complain about the US being overly involved in the world... then, when a problem like this comes up, the USA doesn't do enough.

Yeah, what was said above.... deal with your own problems once and a while.  A big chunk of Europe is about to learn just what that means, because Obama ain't doing squat to help with Russia.

Do you really think the US wants to give away any hint of its spy capabilities? 239 people aboard a plane vs. millions that could be impacted by sensitive information becoming available. I would be willing to bet that Russia and China know as well(and the paranoid PRC would rather protect its own spy abilities rather than the 154 Chinese on that plane). Of course the location of this plane is known...but revealing it would compromise varying levels of security. Pretty simple.

Obviously not if we haven't found that landslide victims yet. Let's be real, the US military hasn't really focused on South East Asia since the 70s. Oh, and I think the attached comic deals with a lot of the feelings towards the US.

And yet, when there is a problem, who do they turn to? Perhaps if you started solving your own problems, then you wouldn't need the US. Just like Korea...bitch, bitch, bitch about the US military, yet they continue to let them stay. Heh. Take the US military away from Korea and watch what happens. ;D

Yes, even as a non-American, this irks me. The world is quick to condemn the US but equally quick to make the issues in the world America's problem.

That escalated quickly

If the Chinese devoted more manpower to their search while throwing caution to the wind wrt to their satellite technology, props to them.

Considering the number and presumed sophistication of American satellites, one would expect more sightings from American satellites. Of course it's quite possible the American satellites have discovered zilch.  But if the American higher-ups don't want to reveal their hand and thus fail to disclose possible sightings, then that'd be troubling.

They haven't found it because they are looking on the wrong planet.  It will be found in 400 years time buried under the surface of Mars.

They can't find it b/c they took it. It's at Diego Garcia!!

Also, please cite instances where "the world" has condemned the US for not finding the plane yet before you start beating that ole hobby horse.

America's position is a two way street. You don't get to be #1 without being heavily involved in how the world works. If America wasn't obligated/willing to get involved in other countries then someone else who wants the power will and America would find itself losing ground economically and politically. If all the people wanting America to be basically isolationist but still somehow a world power didn't realize, the entire Cold War was to prevent Russia from being able to coerce/entice large swaths of the planet onto its side. It doesn't matter how big your economy is and how much legacy of "awesomeness" you have. If you sit on the sidelines while someone more motivated than you starts acting then the status quo will change.

Considering the plane was heading for China I understand why they want to find it.

Also, Americas has ship Towed Pinger Locator, 2 navy P-3 Orions and Boeing P-8 aircraft; Navy ships USS Kidd and USS Pinckney with Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopters; as well as a National Transportation Safety Board team.

Foreign owned planes carrying Chinese people flying off course towards Antarctica are a serious threat to America and must be monitored at all costs. Only 4 mid-air refuels and that thing could have been in Panama shutting down key US shipping routes.
