Toaster Oven suggestions?
« on: March 19, 2014, 02:45:49 pm »
So I am in the market for a new toaster oven (I am not fast enough to reply once a used one is posted on the internet) and I was curious of specific models that preform well. I would like a toaster oven that can...well make toast but also one that can be utilized for baking (bread and pumpkin pie specifically). Any recommendations? I could also consider a proper oven if it lightweight enough to move around alot (which I doubt exists).

Quite honestly, I bought the cheapest one on Gmarket after checking to be sure my muffin tin would fit inside. So far, I've used it to cook meals, and baked cookies, apple pie, biscuits and muffins. It's great. I've had no problems doing pretty much whatever I want with it, though I haven't tried bread.

I've honestly never had trouble baking with any type of toaster oven. I don't remember the brand of mine at home, but it was only about 20k and I've made everything, including bread.

Just check the size and I think you'll be fine.

I have a Wiswell oven and it works great.  It's about the size of a microwave and I've made everything from roast chicken to cookies in it with no problem.  Here a link to the one I have on Gmarket: http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=185208341

A life rule I always go by is:

If I don't know a lot about a medium sized purchase (not a daily one, not a cheap one, but not an important one like a computer or a car) I always buy something in the middle price range.
Not too cheap because it'll probably be worthless fast, and not too expensive because it'll have features I dont' know how to use or are pointless.

I bought a Pungnyun toaster oven off G-Market for 25,000 on sale.  It is normally 45,000 or something.  It's red.  The number is PNQ-09L.

I use it for meat, fish, cookies, toast, etc.  It's not huge, but not too small either.  I've had it for 2 years and I recommend it.

I second the Wiswell recommendation - picked one up from G Market for around 40,000 (if I recall correctly), and it's great for baking all sorts.
