Warm-up Jeong Sa Yeol Middle School Motto of Wisdom
« on: March 13, 2014, 08:58:21 am »
I was wondering what are some good warm-up activities for the lesson 1 in Jeong Sa Yeol Middle School textbook. Tried looking, however, couldn't find any with the lesson for low-level students.

Thank you! :)

This should probably go in the thread for that chapter, but usually, my warm-up activities are not related to the chapter directly.  Last semester I did a riddle or two every week to get my students thinking about how words can have more than one meaning, and this semester, I teach them an English idiom at the start of class each week, and have them try using it in a sentence.  I want to break them away from the rigid language of the textbook, and my co-teachers are okay with that.

I'd say the best warm-up is something that just gets them awake and using English, or even thinking.  Keep it to 5 minutes or so and you can enjoy a much more productive lesson afterwards.
