getting HPV vaccination as a man
« on: April 06, 2011, 02:55:31 pm »
Several research articles in the past two years have recommended Gardasil for the prevention of HPV in men between the ages of 16 and 26. Even the FDA has approved such use.

However, I am having trouble getting Korean doctors / receptionists to believe this.

Have any men had luck getting Gardasil shots here?

I'm not sure where you're based, but I'm guessing somewhere in Seoul/Busan may be the best for it, or maybe even the American military bases.  It's an assumption, but Koreans aren't all too concerned about sexual health here.  My gf lways had these shocked expressions when she asked some CoTs about a gynecologist.  I'll ask my male CoTs about it though.  Sorry if this wasn't helpful!
You get what you give :)

Thanks. I found a urology clinic at Seoul Station (www.gold-man.com) that said that they'll do it.

Test: 70,000 won
Vaccine (3 shots): 540,000 won

phone number: 02-7773-7522

Koreans (that's so broad) may not be too concerned about it, but my American girlfriend is.
