US Tax Question
« on: February 19, 2014, 09:18:33 am »
I've got a question about the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) form. If I understand the website correctly (http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Small-Businesses-&-Self-Employed/Report-of-Foreign-Bank-and-Financial-Accounts-FBAR) I'm only allowed to e-file this. Yet this site (http://taxes.about.com/od/preparingyourtaxes/a/TDF90221.htm) says I can mail the forms in. Yes, it's About.com which is far from perfect. But I don't like to do anything financial online that I don't have to do.

So can anyone clear this up for me?

Effective July 1, 2013, the new FinCEN Form 114 which supersedes TD F 90-22.1 (the FBAR form that was used in prior years) has to be e-filed through the BSA E-Filing System website.
