MOE wants my original diploma
« on: February 18, 2014, 04:06:59 pm »
Has anyone ever had experience with the MOE requesting your original diploma?

I didn't bring it with me and now I'm supposed to have my family mail it to me because the apostilled and notarized copy was "rejected" upon my school registering me with the MOE. Immigration didn't seem to have any problem with it though.

Apparently Gyeonggi MOE, as of this year, is requiring an original diploma. In my 2+ years here I have never had to submit that.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Any information would be very much appreciated.

When I came last year I was told by my recruiter that I would need to show my original diploma, so I brought it with me. Turns out they didn't need it.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's changes in the wind and now it's going to be yet another crazy step in the process.

My University only ever gives one original certificate and then certified copies after that. This new rule would screw anyone from my uni who lost their original...

I suspect that there was a miscommunication between some Koreans at some point and it'll blow over.
