It is normal for Pension to be double in some month?
« on: February 07, 2014, 11:48:11 pm »
So salary is 2.0 mill. Pension for the past 8 months have been taken out as 90,000 won per pay check. Ask for a pay-stud so that I can file income tax back home. Notice that for December my pension was deducted double (180,000 won). It is normal for pension to be deducted double in some month? I feel like the school administrators might mess up on my pay.

P.S Call the Pension office and they say, I should pay 90,000 won and the school should pay the other half (90,000) to equal 180,000 total.  Anyone experience with this issue before?

From my experience, as a public school teacher, pay has been the same every month. 180,000 deducted in total. That includes, taxes, health care and pension. Based on a 2.4 million salary. Nothing has ever changed. Not sure if it should change over the year, but for me it has not. Every pay is the same.

Things can get 'adjusted' meaning they realize you've paid X amount less than you should for X amount of time so they do an adjustment. I've had that happen a few times.

if you asked the pension office, and they told you that, then you should check with your school to see 'what you paid' and 'what they paid'
You only live today once. You wont get a second chance. You wont get to live it twice. So make the most of it.

If they were talking out less pension than they were suppose to, then yes it is normal. You are supposed to receive a pension receipt from the pension office ever 6 months. I received mine and it showed how much my total contribution towards my pension has been. I did not ask for this statement, it just arrived at my school one day from one of their offices.
