Does your English Classroom face east or west???
« on: November 05, 2012, 10:53:29 am »
I just noticed the reason why my english room is darn cold is because it faces west.  I get no direct sunlight the whole day even if it's sunny.  All the other korean homeroom classes face east with huge giant windows and they get heated naturally via the greenhouse effect.

I wonder if this is done purposely via ranking of most important to least thereby giving the best side to the higher ups and the worst side to the lesser.  Check yours...are you facing east or west?

My classroom is in the basement. The only light in there is from a single, naked 60 watt bulb dangling loosely from the ceiling.

How is this a job or contract related issue?  This is non-sense.   Who cares where it faces so long as your room provides you with the resources to do your job?

Hey chillax.
I would have put this in Gabfest or Life in Korea but a moderator would have moved it here.

It was a simple observation, not a formal complaint.

Interesting observation, but I doubt that it means much. At my school all of the classroom have windows on the north side of the school. Generally the classrooms and hallways are several degrees cooler than the teacher's room. Actually, I don't mind a chillier classroom, because right now I am sitting in the teacher's room and actively sweating.

I don't have a compass with me, but guessing on the location of the afternoon sun I would guess my English Zone faces southwest. The temperature fluctuates greatly depending on the seasons of course.
