I've been teaching the sentence structure of

"How about we (play, go, ride bikes)?" along the "How about (playing baseball, going to the..., riding bikes)?" because it just is the more common phrase. And also the students seem to understand it better if they realize it's about multiple people doing things as a group, which they were struggling with.

@Robotka,

Fantastic materials, always look forward to seeing them! Just wondering about the clapping game, as it's something I want to do but haven't braved yet. Do you line up the entire class? Is there a points system? Is it done by group? How's the space situation in your class?

L1. I'd like to pictionary. (I printed out these pictures to use as flash cards to practice making "I'd like to _________" sentences. Then we played pictionary with the same pictures. Students had to answer with "I'd like to _____" sentences. I reused the flash cards on day 2 to practice "How about __________(ing)"  sentences. The pictures were used in the tic tac toe game below)

L2. RPS tic tac toe game boards-different versions
(I laminated these so I could reuse them for all my classes and students could play more than once.  I made enough for pairs to play tic tac toe. Instructions are in the document.)

Here's a mystery box for the last lesson, has all the key expressions, although you might want to change the one with "I'd like to teach the world to sing" as an answer if you didn't teach the song.

Hope you had a great Christmas, by-the-by!

If you would like to blow your students' minds, I recommend showing them this.  It is interactive.

This is a modified version of the "Lucky Treasure Chest" game (modified from the template posted by Eros on "The One Stop PPT Game Template Spot" thread). I made it into "Space Pirates" with a couple of cosmetic tweaks, and added some slides of explanation (with some Korean as well). It's still pretty basic, but fits the topic pretty well, I think.

Here's the PPT!

Used the Virgin Gallactic intro video to show the kids it will be possible for anyone (the rich) to go to space. I asked them in teams to think of reasons you would like to go.

Here is a line bingo game for listening.  Instructions are in the ppt. The strips are in the doc. It contains 50 strips, 10 of 5 different variations.

Speaking game for "I'd like to" grammar point.

Got this template from the 6th grade lesson, "May I See Your Ticket?"

All Ss stand up. Going down the line, each Ss chooses a square and forms the sentence, "I'd like to + ________." Teacher clicks on square, if there is an "O" the student is safe. If there is an "X" the student is out and sits down. After making it through the class once, go through again with the Ss that are still standing. Continue until only one student is standing. There are enough slides for a class of 30 students. If you have more than that, you'll have to add more slides.

To keep the other Ss involved, I'll have all of my Ss say the sentence when someone gets out.

This is a great game. I am a little worried with some of my nosier classes about the students staying interested but I think they will like this!

The Little Prince (Story Time)... The Youtube video has English subs - but they do not download, so you have to watch it youtube. The PPT is based on the textbook - some sentences are in Korean and the students have to translate.

Here is a Mad Libs writing activity using one of the dialogues in the lesson as a framework!
