After refusing offers to eat a second slice of cake one day I was told "wow, you have a very small stomach" To which I replied "oh, okay..." this was followed by a little chuckle and "yes, i think small on the inside but big on the outside". Ha ha

my coteacher had been staring at me intently for a while, before she finally walked up to me and asked "how did you get your eyes to be so big?"
my response: "ummm...i...don't...know...??"
i should've told her that i practice daily eye stretching exercises, just to see if she'd do them..

Not a teacher, but a student. Said 5 minutes ago, couldn't resist posting ^^

Student: "What's your real name?"
Me:        "Huh?"
Student: "Your Korean name..."

Apparently English names are not "real" :D
Sweet kid though ^^

It's cultural difference. Koreans talk about appearance all the time but no offense.

This is because the Korean word 기대하다 can be used how we would use the word to expect, but also as we would use the phrase to look forward to something. Because of this, most Koreans don't realise there's a difference in English, and only learn one translation - to expect.

They were actually asking you if you were looking forward to it!

From a male co-teacher who was trying to explain a card game to me: "get on your desk and spread them."

Lately, my co-teacher has been telling me that a class was more "retarded" than the other classes.

Later, I figured out that what she wanted to say was that that grade 4 class was a little behind schedule for lessons compared to the other classes.  ;D

Last week a co-teacher offers me some jerky.

Co-teacher:  Here, try some. Very delicious.
Me: No, thanks. I'm a vegetarian.
Co-teacher: Oh! You are vegetable!

Not really a "comment" that's actually said but it's somewhat amusing. My first week here, I wasn't teaching yet so I sat on my desk every day at the teacher's room. My co-teacher would check up on me every hour to see how I was doing/if I was bored/if I wanted to go to McDonalds. On one occasion, after checking up on me about a hundred times, he approached my desk to ask me something. I looked up and we both just laughed at each other.

2 seconds later, she comes rushing in a bit of a blind panic, shouting, "And then the gown, the gown!!! You need to put on the gown!!!"

That just made my day.   ;D
