Look into Aeroflot Air or whatever it's called, Russia's airline.  They usually have cheap tickets (about 600k one way) to Moscow and then cheap (100k) tickets to other European destinations.  I know several people who have taken this route, and I did it myself.  I even got upgraded by chatting up the check-in lady.  If you don't have lots of luggage also look into Air Asia.  The fly from here down to SE Asia, and from there I think they fly to London.

However, I do know tickets in Europe this summer are especially high due to Euro12 and then the Olympics, although I doubt they beat the prices for a trip to North America ($2500?  Go fly yourself!).  Good luck.

Frigging Olympics! I've flown with Air Asia (within Asia) and they've always been great, so I'll see if they go to London and I'll check out the Russian guys as well. Maybe a stopover in Moscow is in order.

Thanks.

AirAsia discontinued their routes to Europe, London and Paris, earlier this year as well as some of their other long haul flights.

Check out Hipmunk.com.  Especially if your dates and arrival location is a flexible, it is a great way to do multiple searches in one browser tab.

It's going to set you over a thousand quid trying to get back to the UK at this time, with the olympics.

I always fly Qatar or Emirates. I find these to be the cheapest. Try booking directly thru the airlines website.
Finn Air is also cheap. I personally don't like KLM, Air France and Lufthansa as I hate having a layover in Europe when I'm so close to home. Also, their service is crap!

I got a decent flight with Cathay Pacific. Quick stopover in Hong Kong and they have been running some good discounts

Emirates, stop off at Dubai... cheap and is never fully booked so the ticket prices stay quite low!

I haven't done this myself but i know 4 of my friends who did it and one of them booked 1 day in advance and got a cheaper flight than me when i booked 1 month in advance

I've seen Air China go for 800 direct to Gatwick or even as low as 450 with a Beijing change. I used Air Emirates last time and it wasn't too bad 750 with a stop at Dubai and Beijing. Just make sure you have at least three hours at Beijing as that place is a monster.

Try Skyscanner I used them to get to Korea.
PV=nRT

Where
P is pressure
V is volume
n is number of moles
R is the gas constant
T is the temperature
