Rock/Punk in Seoul
« on: May 03, 2012, 09:06:50 am »
Hi all

I'm new to living in Seoul so I know very little about the music scene here. I love rock in general, punk, and a lot of alternative music. I assume most of this kind of music would be happening in Hongdae right? If anyone could suggest some bars/clubs or local acts that play this kind of music it would be appreciated :)

Oh, I actually heard of a place called FF in Hongdae that sounds good.

I don't know if it's still around but I used to go to a place in Hongdae called Ska Hell.  It's a really tiny place, about the size of two public school classrooms and they have a BYOB policy.  I saw loads of punk bands there and even one night was lucky enough to catch the Slackers there for 10,000 won.

You thinking of Skunk Hell? Sadly, it closed down early January.

All the shows in and around Seoul are listed on here.

Yes, you're right.  Skunk Hell.  Too bad they closed, though I haven't been there in a few years.
