How much is your maintenance fee?
« on: March 27, 2012, 02:44:59 pm »
I want to see how much people pay for their maintenance fee depending on where they live. Also, it would be great if you could write what it covers/includes. Thanks!

Mine is 75 000 and includes general hallway cleaning and elevator maintenance. I live in Guwol Dong, Incheon.

My building fee is right around 50 000. I'm not sure all that it covers, but I've been told it's more expensive than other folks around town because we have an elevator. It's a 15 story building.
I live in a rural town of 10,000.

I live in a rural town in a small apartment complex. Only 10 apartments. I pay 10,000 won per month maintenance fee which includes hallway cleaning, a maintenance man on 24hr call and general upkeep.

I've had 30 (cleaning and water), 50 (cleaning and water with cable and internet), now 30 (cleaning, recycling, and water), and my last apartment had two. I lived in a high rise and the apartment fee was 69 and the other was usually around 100. I wasn't sure exactly what everything was but we had garbage, recycling, city taxes, water, security guards, parking, elevators, and community lighting. Part of the high bill was heating sometimes so that's why I didn't understand it.  46-152... That was pretty ridiculous.

50, and it only covers cleaning.  We have no elevator and the building is only three storeys, so 50 for cleaning seems like kind of a ripoff.

Mine is 25,000 and I live in Giheung-gu Yongin. I live in a small villa with no security or elevator. I believe it covers sweeping the hallways and stairs, changing the hallway lights, cleaning up/maintaining the recycling bags out front and probably water usage.

Also, if there is a problem with either of the sinks the building owners take care of it not the school (my school owns the apt). I don't know who would take care of the toilet or shower if something broke as it hasn't happened (thank God!), but I assume it's the building people and not the school since they're all plumbing related.

I pay 30,000 a month and it covers water and having the landlord bag up my recycling.  It also covers general building maintenance, but there is very little that needs to be done.  Not totally worth it, but much less than having to my rent.

Mine is 15,000 won. The water gets added on to that every month as well, so it usually comes out closer to 20,000 won.
As far as what that includes, I have no idea. There's probably 20 apartments in my building, although probably only half are occupied.
Technically I guess that money goes towards "cleaning and maintenance." But seeing as how the light bulb in my hallway has been out for the last year, I'm not quite sure.

There was that one time a drunk Korean man (I knew he was a drunk Korean man because he was banging on all the doors on my floor in the middle of the night, and grumbling all the time. I guess a woman COULD make a male grumbling noise, but it was probably a man) threw up in my hallway. That got cleaned up eventually. I guess the 15,000 won includes "vomit removal"

50 000 won. Includes Internet and Cable TV (not a huge package but about 80 channels).

But I'm in a small (12 or so rooms) villa style building. No guard/elevator. S\

They come and sweep the stairs etc, fix things as I need.

Mine was 87,000 won this month but that included the installation fee from the internet company. I was surprised they had such a large fee but I wasn't the one who set up the appointment for it to be set up. I think monthly it will be 37,000 and the fee was 50,000.

I live in Sanbon in an officetel, there's a 24hr security guard. I think its way expensive considering it's a 1 room bedsit! I'm glad the rent is free!

My bill ranges from 125,000 - 225,000 (depending on usage).

It includes;

electricity
water (hot & cold are separately charged)
Ondol (50,000 flat rate regardless of being used or not) = SWINES!!!!!
security
insurance
elevators
cleaning
T.V

Gas is a separate bill and is between 1000 - 6000 every month.
