All Quiet on the Western FrontAn accurate depiction of the horrors of trench warfare during WW1. It shows how quickly fervor and nationalism to serve your country can change to just a battle to survive each day. The elite who push the young men into war eat course meals whilst the soldiers on the front are starving. It is a grim movie with plenty of unnerving scenes with a little levity sprinkled in between the horror. The acting is superb, cinematography highlights the true hell of the Front and the music adds to the suspense and sense of incoming trepidation.9/10
1. I did not like the first Black Panther movie (nor The Winter Soldier or Avengers End Game, they sucked).2. I really liked the latest Black Panther film. Surprisingly, as i only saw it cuz my bud wanted to go (to the one theater in town, that featured it). I think two Oscars are for sure, bet on it, one for Best Supporting Actress. Those lines and scenes were written to win!!
Why? The sequel has nothing on the original.
Watched Where Crawdads Sing on Netflix, pretty good.
Me too confusedsaffer! It took me an age to finally watch it mainly because of the romantic drama bit, but in the end it was just part of the movie, not the movie itself. You should also check-out the book. A really good read.
Is the book a lot different from the movie?
Yeah, there are a few differences. I'm not going to throw out spoilers though. We know most/many books leave the movies dead, but the differences are not significant enough to completely alter this movie version...just way less depth, naturally.
Since the gov't revealed (50 years later unsealed) documents,... has any film captured the American decision to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki despite the historically-proven by U.S. admittance, ... that it was all about needing the Japanese to give up their Emperor, to let America lead post-war reconstruction (there was a clear plan and an emperor in power might have upset it).Bombing Hiroshima & Nagasaki was a business decision. To be clear: the Japanese were ready and willing to totally surrender, but wanted their emperor to be protected and preserved as their leader; the U.S. refused, having industrialists lined up for American-led post-war reconstruction. This was headlne news for three days. A quarter century later,... poof!
