'Mackenna's Gold' (1969)

My all time favorite old Western. Starring  Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif, and Telly Savalas. I watched it again the other day. I pull it out every 10 years or so. I just never get sick of it. I remember going to the movies in 1969 or 1970, to see it. I loved it so much, that I went again the next day (vacation at my aunts).

Probably not everyones idea of a good movie, but I'm a Western tragic.

Deadpool teams up with a young Deadpool and Hulk to save the future. Really, Ryan Reynolds should just be credited as "Ryan Reynolds as himself" in all of his movies.
Pretty much. He's created this character and plays it in all his movies.

I watched about 30 minutes of it last night and stopped. I wasn't enjoying it at all. I'll give it another go tonight, but I'm pretty sure I won't get to see the end. The chubby Englishman was also really getting up my nose for some reason.

Yes, agreed about Halle Berry. She is the least of the films worries.

So how'd that work out for ya?

I thought that the movie was okayish, but it IS pretty ****** stupid. I've seen much worse, though.

My greatest takeaway from the whole thing was Halle Berry, haha. That should tell anyone everything that they need to know about it.

I tried again, but ditched it within 10 minutes. Just not for me. Mind you, I'm being very strange these days...very restless. Even my regular TV programs are not what they were, and books are not interesting me. Probably just a 'spring thing'.
In saying this, I have been watching a movie called 'The Outfit', over the past 2 days. Slow as heck but I'm determined to finish it.

Edit: No, I couldn't finish it. Just too dull

Moonfall was so bad that it was good but still really bad. Good popcorn movie, maybe.

Uncharted (2022)
The Batman (2022)
The Bad Guys (2022)

The Batman wasn't what I was expecting. Not really your "traditional" Batman film, a lot more of a detective film then it is an action film, which isn't a bad thing tbh. I think they emo'd up Robert Pattison a little too much for the part, but it is what it is, and he played his part well enough, so whatever.

The Bad Guys was okay. Cute and sometimes cringey. Better than I'd expected.

Uncharted:

Planning to watch The Northman tonight.

Yep, me too, but more than likely Sunday (Wife's 61st party tomorrow). Looks really good. I hope I'm not too disappointed, as so often happens with movies I'm looking forward to.

The trick is to sit down with low expectations to begin with. I often fail to set them low enough, but it's a fair strategy.

Also Willem Dafoe is in it. That man could have a single 5 second no dialogue scene in the whole film and I'd still be happy. Or happy enough. Could make for a good gif.

Uncharted.

Was a decent enough action movie for a night in.
Had some nice action sequences but was basically Tom Holland playing Spider-Man without the costume.

Really enjoyed The Batman. It reminded me of the Batman in the comics I grew up reading. One that featured Batman was the aptly titled "Detective Comics."

I really enjoyed The Batman which is good cause DC Comics movies tend to be bad (Aquaman and Wonder Woman aside).

Ambulance (re-make of a Danish movie)

It's a Michael Bay movie. It has a long car chase sequences, it's loud, it has flashing lights, it has helicopters, it has a lot of guns, it has explosions. It's a Michael Bay movie...and somewhat decent if you just want entertainment.

The Batman was more like Sherlock Holmes than Ridley Scott.
To translate; it was more of a mystery film than a dystopian action flick, though it was a bit of both.
