Thank you. A follow up question:

There were extended versions with the DVDs many years ago. Are they the same, or are they different than those ones?

Thanks.

there are two versions of each film: a theatrical version, as released to theatres in 2001, 2002 and 2003 respectively, and an extended version, as released to DVD in 2002, 2003 and 2004 respectively.

each version is available on blu-ray and DVD, as well as from iTunes. they're labelled as either being the "theatrical version" or the "extended edition" (or something to that effect).

Whatever's on CTV.

I've seen The Dark Knight and Resident Evil Afterlife about 6 times each.

Also, the remake of Total Recall. Weirdest elementary school field trip ever. For me, at least.

I'm usually watching TV shows and not movies, but the most recent movie that I've watched was Avatar: The Last Airbender because for some reason I wanted to relive the awful experience.

Next on my list is watching Hunger Games. This movie had a lot of hype, but I wanted to avoid it...

I finally saw The Avengers.
It was pretty stupid, but fun...

i hated hunger games. not just bc it was unresolved (i guess there are two more sequels coming up) but mainly bc i couldnt identify at all with the main characters. i would not have shot that pig. if i had shooting skills i would have killed three of the sponsors. probably would have kiled that crazy-looking woman as well prior to putting wn arrow through sponsors heads. naw, probably would have waited until i got interviewed by that dbag and ripped his heart out on live panem tv. yeah, that, ould have been a more effective move...

Just watched 5-Year Engagement. Though there were some cute lines asnd scenes here and there, it still managed to suck. Not very original.

I watched Zookeeper the other night. The only redeeming feature was the opening scene, all else after that was bad or terrible.

I also watched Lockout, starring a really miscast Guy Pearce. It was worth watching for a few lines in the middle but the opening CGI was ridiculous .. is this the 1980s still??

Project X - if you've ever had a house party you came to regret you should watch this. Don't watch with minors as it has scenes of an adult nature.

i saw the new resident evil yesterday. usually, i will have nothing to do with zombies (they really scare me), but the resident evil films are little bit crazy, so i can look past the undead part. the new one is quite good. there are a lot of call backs to the first in the series, so if you liked that one then you'll be more comfortable with this.

hopefully they're able to make a sixth film to finish out the series. there'a quite a cliffhanger at the end!

Checked out a handful of Korean movies this past week:

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - 6.5/10
-Cool, but a little all over the place. Still think Lady Vengeance is the best of the Trilogy (!)

Secret Sunshine - 5.5/10
-Had a lot of hype after reading up on it.... maybe that got in the way of me really enjoying it.

Joint Security Area - 8/10
-Started off a tad slow but ended up awesome! Definitely recommend this one!

I rewatched "Lars and the Real Girl" last night.  Good movie.  It has Ryan Gosling in it!

For those who don't know the plot, it's about a man who is anti-social to the point that it's becoming more of a social illness.  However, he also becomes extremely lonely at the same time.  To remedy this, he orders a lifelike sex doll on the 'net.  Instead of doing what I know most of you are thinking about (;)), he convinces himself that she's actually alive and is his religious girlfriend.  He takes her out on the town to meet everyone he knows.  It's actually a very sweet movie and may make you tear up at the end if you are prone to crying at movies.

I watched 'The Flowers of War' the other night. It has a score of 7.6 on IMDB and Christian Bale so I really, really wanted to like it. Unfortunately the acting was pretty bad, as was a lot of the dialogue and editing. The fighting contained some fantastic set pieces and the topic was interesting enough for me to spend a few hours on Wiki.

So, worth a watch.

I watched The Divide last night, a post-apocalyptic thriller(?), which is my favourite genre, but left too many unanswered questions!

i was finally able to see the new pixar "brave" last night!! i really enjoyed it. the story is a little thin, and slow to start, but the gorgeous visuals make up for that. there are a lot of funny moments as well.

great film! but i can see why some people were disappointed.

I just finished watching the old flick Eight Men Out about the 1919 Chigago Black Sox fix in the World Series of baseball. I really enjoyed it.
